  1. My only real gripe is that diesel oil has a "cleansing agent!" and how it affects VVT if at all.
  2. While on the subject of oil grade I was wondering if I could use the oil I bought for the wifes S class merc which is 5W 30 for diesel engines.
  3. They say the further north you travel the better...
  4. I take it cant be parked in certain places then, like anywhere 🤪
  5. Further to this topic, as stated above the water drains overflowed on the wifes Vellfire and dripped inside after night of rain. Went out this morning with the intention of assessing what needs to be done based on others input, well, once I realised exactly where the drain hole was it became apparent there is another option. Firstly you will need a mig gun liner (the inner part that the welding wire actually runs through), I pulled one out of my old weld torch and stripped off the outer plastic coating. These liners are are very flexible yet some force can be pushed along its length, ideal for sending down narrow pipes/tubes. 1. Open sun roof 2. remove plastic trim that is attached to the side of the glass frame hiding the mechanism by pulling it downwards. 3.from the drivers seat pass the torch liner over the metal parts as shown in 1st picture and guide into the hole (fiddly part) 4. feed in the liner in a see saw action, mine was 3mtre and took most of it, will pull out easily. NB. protect the roof liner from dirt.
  6. Is there much work to get to the bottom ends of the front tubes?
  7. Ihave discovered the same problem on the wifes vellfire (it started raining last night) and my first thought was could I fit my vacuum pump to end of the pipes behind the wheel arch covers (I assume thats where they are). Will take a peek at the weekend when she not using it, unless someone knows different...
  8. I have the same problem with the vellfire and was wondering if I could connect my vacuum pump to the end of the pipe rather than remove the front sunroof.
  9. Will have to ask the other half when she comes in and post all the detail, her memory is better than mine. Actually I think someone may hay posted it on this site and that is where I got the memory stick from, you still have to download free software for it to work.
  10. I purchased this workshop manual on a memory stick for £30, seems ok.
  11. According to the very large book (for a dash cam) that came with it, it is supposed to be able to connect to the wifes phone but zilch, so I assume it was not re-connected when the head unit was changed just as they also 'forgot' to put the gear selector light socket back in as well because that doesn't illuminate either 😒 You cant get the staff these days...
  12. It has dawned on me that this dash cam works in conjunction with the original head unit and sat nav, possibly getting its power from it as well and may not now be connected to anything...
  13. I also have the Toyota dash cam but shows no signs of life, is this anything to do with the new android head unit?
  14. Been searching the net but unable to find a front camera for a 2011 Vellfire on a android system, can anyone offer guidance (wife loves to tailgate 🤣).
  15. The impression I get is that these after market roof units work independent of the head unit (as shown in video), especially the ones like this with BT for the headphones, all that is required is a 12v supply which I assume is already in the roof.
  16. I must be missing something here because I have seen a video on the tube with a roof unit that played independent of the head unit!!!
  17. Set of 4 new mud flaps for the Alphard 08-14 (advertised as fitting the Vellfire as well but doesn't fit the wife's car). Looking for £15 for them, just saves you waiting for them to arrive from Antarctica. Comes with the 8 fixing screws. Located in TF4 3JP
  18. Perhaps the guy you are looking for is in Dawley in Telford. He is round the corner from me, he fits LPG to all sorts. I used to pay £10 per year to a club and they it gave access to all LPG sites across the country (at a cheaper rate) and they gave me an A6 book with all the nationwide LPG sites and an access key with 4 digit code to gain access to the cages, not sure if this is still the case though. Mobile Automotives & LPG 03 Springhill road. TF4 3DG 07954 582 542
  19. ...and is there no simple way of bypassing the socket at the roof to complete the circuit I take it?
