Hi,
Alphard, Ah20 2013, 18 speakers.
I’m removing my amplifier, going to connect speakers directly to new head unit.
I found this attached to the amp. Can anyone tell me what it does and whether I need to keep it plugged in?
Thank you.
Can I ask - my speakers have recently stopped working (ah20, 18 speaker premium sound) the rear screen was removed a year ago. I have an android head unit and the connector shown above goes directly into my canbus. The canbus has a green steady light glowing. Can’t figure out why it would suddenly stop working.
do I need to short these wires as mentioned above?
An old post, but did you get this fixed? My android hu was outputting sound fine but now it’s stopped and I can’t figure out why. I have a feeling the amp isn’t firing up as I usually hear it through the speakers, but no more. Anything I can do to bump it on?
Hi Chris, the right hand button I found was a volume setting but just toggles between low, medium and high volumes - never off. So looks like I will have to disconnect it.
Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I’m in a similar situation to the OP now. For my head unit 56107 18 speakers (most of which are no longer needed as I have a full length side conversion) I understand there are two options:
a) MOST decoder box that still uses the amp
b) Amplifier bypass cables that still connect to the amp but doesn’t use it
However, is it possible to completely remove the amp and everything else under the passenger seat, and use the speakers direct to the android head unit?
The motive behind this is to free up a little more storage space.
thank you.
