  1. Hi fellow Alfies I've used Mark Richards for over 8 years, when I had a Mazda Bongo. And subsequently continued when I got an Alfie. The quotes I got years ago, were ridiculous. £1000-1500. But Mark Richards found me good cover for £400. So I've stuck with him since. Regards Jethro
  2. Hi Alfies So far, so good. Keeping the NHDT W57 head unit, which came with a 2007 plate, has turned out to be a good decision. There is enough English info, to work out how to use much of it. And I've installed a plug-in Pure 200 D.A.B. radio, into the front cigarette lighter, and connected it into the Alphards sound system, via the 3.5 plug. And it works great. I live in Portsmouth and travel to Southampton everyday. And the only problem I have is the newish, air traffic control centre based at Swanwick, which blocks all radio signals. This centre guided in Donald Trump in Airforce 1, for D-Day celebrations. So it's not what would usually exist elsewhere. So I can't comment on reception elsewhere. What I do know is that digital radio, while great where it works, with a good signal, can be useless with a weak signal.
  3. Hi to all you fellow Alfies. I had a Mazda Bongo for 7 years, and replaced and cut all the electrical gubbings, and aerials on the roof, V.C.R. and Jap toll road automatic card payments, which weren't compatible or necessary in this country. This time round with the Alfie, I've held back. The Head unit has possibilities, that the Bongo never had, which I'm still exploring. It's an NHDT W57. And using Google Translate, has been a game-changing advance which didn't exist before. The radio may have very limited use, but the C.D. and D.V.D player are perfect. And it has a hard drive capacity of 40 GB to store umpteen C.D,s, which it does automatically. I'm still exploring and looking into plug in D.A.B, radio, into the Aux socket on the head unit. Happy camping Jethro
