  1. That is captive NUT.
  2. Iain, I think I was mistaken. It must be an M6 I agree. Whatever fits the captive but in the body.
  3. I just installed a rack on my 2003 MNH-15. I bought a SportRack SR1002 and modified the grip plates to follow the contour of the sliding door jamb. I used M12 cap screws to anchor the plates into the factory captive nuts.
