Sorin posted a topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Hi! Did anyone managed to synchronise the reverse camera's guidelines to match the spinning of the steering wheel? -

Head unit wiring chaos!

Yes, the Xtrons is the new one. I have similar pins on the new HU and I was wondering what are these for. Also, on the old android, I have a RCA labeled video out, and the roof monitor is mirroring the main HU. I cannot find a similar one on the Xtrons, although manual mentions about this function ( but not how to connect the devices). Can you see a potential video out on the Xtrons pin out? -

Hi Chris, I found all three wires, SWG, SW1 and SW2. Thank you so much. I have connected the sw1 and sw2 to the coresponding wires on my 16 pin head unit connector, but still nothing. I am sure that I have to connect the swg wire too, but I don't know where. Do you have an ideea, please? -

Chris, do you know where I can find these 3 wires? I don't have them in the harness at the back of the head unit and I want to look for them at the other end, but where is the other end of the wires? -

All the cars have Can comms. I am pretty sure that there is a way to get them to talk over the Can protocol. -

Connector C is not in use, the 2 Can wires. I do plan to connect them, I have to think at a way to plug in to the Can lines. -

Yes. Also, when you are reversing, are your guide lines moving in corelation with your steering wheel moves? I mean, if you are turning the steering wheel to the left, are your guide line moving to the left too? -

In the previous photo, the 2 SWC are the short ones pointing up, a brown and a brown+white. They are positioned on the 16 pin connector as in the pic attached, pin 6 and 7. -

Hi Geralt, thank you for your help. In the 16 pin connector I have the 2 SW wires, but are connected to nothing. This is why I want to find where these wires are coming from and connect them. I bought the car with an Android and the SW buttons were not working. You can see the SW wires in the pic. -
Hi all, I am writing to ask for your help about the wiring for the head unit. I have a 2012 Vellfire 2.4 petrol. When I bought it, the head unit was already replaced with an Android. When I wanted to change it with a better android, at the back I found a total chaos in the wiring, as you can see in the pictures. My car has only 1 speaker in each door, so 4 in total, plus 2 small Pioneer fitted on the A pillars. From all those wires I noticed that the ones for the Steering Controls are missing and I don't know from where to bring them to the head unit. I also have a grey connector with 4 wires that I don't know what is for, but I suspect that is for the rear camera. It doesn't connect to my head unit, but my rear camera works! Please help if you can!

Chris, by any chance do you know what is this connector from the back of the head unit? It does not fit in the new Android and I suspect that is the steering wheel controls, but I wanted to double check with you! -
I finally managed to programme a new key fob for my Vellfire 2012 with Techstream. The whole process is a bit annoying but I manged to do it in the end. If anyneeds help, I am more than happy to help with details!

Hi Teekay, I have a question: I bought recently a OBDII that I can use to scan my 2012 Vellfire. My phone connects to it via WiFi and I have an mobile app. https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/streetwize-obdii-code-reader-for-android-and-ios-553999810?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3JCvBhA8EiwA4kujZt5VBcVRzw1spzBEo3PjEV-_5JrKMRPyZnSpGxpf-RFqik5o2rGPARoCAL4QAvD_BwE . Is this the same with the VCI cable? Can I use it with the Techstream software? Also, what is the difference between the keys with different frequencies, 312, 313 and 414 Mhz? I need a 4 buttons key and I am not sure which is the correct one for me!

Thank you Chris, very helpful! In the meantime, I looked through other posts and websites and l I found this one at Argos, I bought it immediately and also used it to change the settings for opening and closing the windows with the smart fob. I was happy to see that they have it in stock at Argos but not at EuroCarParts. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9566442?istCompanyId=a74d8886-5df9-4baa-b776-166b3bf9111c&istFeedId=30f62ea9-9626-4cac-97c8-9ff3921f8558&istItemId=rxtaixixl&istBid=t&&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59157|acid:804-872-0397|cid:20330964438|agid:|tid:|crid:|nw:x|rnd:2590488427029290232|dvc:m|adp:|mt:|loc:1007113&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20330964438&utm_term=9566442&utm_content=shopping&utm_custom1=&utm_custom2=804-872-0397&GPDP=true&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3JCvBhA8EiwA4kujZvx8K5Zu2Ud6DJSw77PjqyiU2g6PmfnCrPJ65npG2PPWHFghN2I6hxoCd64QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Replacing head unit
Sorin replied to Laurence's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Hi Chris.ac. Can you please share with me the wiring for the head unit and the roof unit? I just bought a 2012 Vellfire and it has an Android but many features are not working, like the roof unit. When I removed the front unit, there is a large number of wires thare are not connected or are cut out from connectors, a total mess. A correct wiring diagram would help me a lot as I am an robotic engineer and I should solve them. Many thanks in advance!
