Hello, does anyone know how to switch the DVD radio navigation system on a 2007 Alphard from Japanese to English? Thank you.

if its the original head unit you can't as these are made for japanese market only and therefore no english option. I use google translate on my phone to figure out everything. otherwise its a new head unit.

Check out "uk alphard shop" on Facebook, for a retro fit android/apple play system, fitted to the original head unit. £350. Birmingham, 2 hour job.

Would be nice to know what system they use to convert as I've been trying with a raspberry pi but there are too many inputs to manually configure each section.

Not had mine done yet, but mean to get it done over the next few weeks. Full touch screen, bluetooth, google maps, etc without losing any original vehicle features.... cameras, hard drive, theatre surround blah blah. I believe it functions through the video port on the head unit. With a little software box canbus unit. Only trouble for me is the 4 hour drive to Birmingham! They do sell a DIY version that you fit yourself but touch screen doesn't work, you get a wired joystick controller..... £230 I think, personally I want the touch screen mod.

Hi my Dad has just got a 2010 Alphard Velfire L package. Can an English display be bought for this? I might also be getting a 2006 Alphard as well

Hello.

Welcome to the Forum.

The units fitted to 2006 models are not changeable to English.

The head units themselves are.

Proceed with care. Some installations are quite easy, others are not !

Hello Yuma,

Welcome to the Forum.

As MonsterS says, in this thread, you can't.

Hi!

I have the 2007 alphard with the Toyota 56065 head unit. We found some dvds that work but we can’t get past the menu screen. Is there a button or option that anyone knows of? Or is there a compatible remote I can buy?

Thanks!

We found DVDs from Europe and Japan (region code 2) work and old ones early 2000s or 90s stuff with small publishers work as well, they sometimes don’t have region codes.

Cardinal Automotive Repair Shop in Calgary SE is parting out my 2004 Alphard Hybrid.  I believe the rear entertainment system remote was left in there, give them a call or drop by.
