Alph-bard Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Hello everyone 👋 I have joined your club, so to speak. This week I collected my first Alphard. It is in great condition and works/drives fabulously for a 2007 vehicle. As I cannot ride and do up motorcycles at the moment (Wife, Kids, Work, Dog etc.) I am turning my attention towards my Alphard. Has anyone modified or pimped their Mk1? I am particularly interested in body kits and LED rear clusters, and upgraded headlight units. I already have a few internal upgrades on he way. However, the most visible will be on the exterior. Once I find a kit, or components, along with front and rear modified lighting. I will have the Alphard wrapped, as it is far cheaper and more efficient than paint. Be great to hear from anyone who has already modified their Mk1, or anyone who knows where to source front and rear light upgrades and body kits. I have seen a handful so far on the Internet, although all appear to be for the Mk2. Cheers 🍻

dezufo Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 Welcome and happy driving. You will be limited to what you can do with the front headlights as any thing that is not factory fitted could be an mot fail, rear lights anything goes so led lights will be OK 1
Alph-bard Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 That could be a very good point. 👍 thanks for pointing out, I had been looking at LEDs so maybe a Halogen is the better way to go. It does look like there are not many (well, any) options out there. I have started chatting to a company on Alibaba, maybe they have something available. Have a good week

dugii Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Seen plenty of projects done be the Japanese guys, where they cut open tail lights and retrofit LEDs inside, some look really good some not so much 😃 All depends how far you want to take it 1 1

Torq2u Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I've just fitted a pair of WY21W Amber (585) 7440 (12V-24V) 7* 3030 SMD Canbus LED Bulbs 3000K Car Indicator to the rear of my van (still have normal bulbs in front). The hazards flash at normal speed, but L / R turn indicators are flashing at double speed. Is this correct please??
Torq2u Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I now understand I need to fit 55w resistors (no idea how to do that - just wanted a simple, straight LED bulb replacement!)
