mikejer Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Hello, I,m considering buying an Alphard and wanted to explore if it's possible to increase the ground clearance at all by larger tyres or suspension lift and if anyone has any knowledge or experience for this? The reason is to be able to access rougher trails for fishing and camping but not serious off road. I understand the clearance is about 150mm currently and would be looking to get this to about 200mm if possible. Any comments or ideas most welcome, thanks in advance!! Mike
MonsterS Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 There was someone who did a suspension lift. But you need to notify the insurance company as it's not at the standard height. I shall dig around and get back to you on the suspension type.
mikejer Posted October 20, 2020 Author Posted October 20, 2020 MonsterS - thanks very much I really appreciate it. I’ve seen things like suspension bushes etc but I have no experience of it and wouldn't want to do anything to damage the vehicle or make it unsafe. cheers Mike
Bazbro Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I, too, am very interested in increasing the ride height, to easily get onto my steeply sloping driveway. Any news, MonsterS? :-)
MonsterS Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Okay, so you can get vehicle clearance guides for the alphard. goto http://jp-carparts.com/ these guys will give you all the aftermarket options you want. 1
Alphard Club Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 if you modify height then consider have airbag kits installed. it will firm up the ride https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=suspension+airbag+kit&_sacat=0 2
