Is your alphard an import then?

Cathy,

They are all imports. To date, Toyota have never sold Alphards and Vellfires in the UK.

That is why Toyota in Truro won't work on yours.

Good. So glad to have helped you, and maybe other members in Cornwall too.

I've used the same iCarsoft unit I use for my Honda Legend; just download the Toyota file from iCarsofts site, and install; the unit is called: iCarsoft JP v2.0

Just wondering if anyone can add anything needed to bring this thread up to date. I'm trying to diagnose a fault which brings up my EML when I put the engine under a bit of extra load particularly in hot weather. It also lacks power & the drive seems to stutter under high load. I have changed the bank 1 lambda, no change. I suspect the MAF sensor but following advice on a YouTube video, I want to make some live readings before i attempt to clean or replace it (location on the hybrid is a bit of a nightmare). In particular the video suggests reading the 'calculated load' figure, which as a percentage at full throttle, can be in the 90's. This is supposed to be the best indicator of a faulty or fouled MAF sensor, which would return a lower value eg 70%'s. So my question is, does the Icarsoft scanner display the live data for calculated load or can anyone recommend a scanner that will. Thanks

What fuel are you using?

Are you using premium (97 ron+)?

You don't need premium in the 2.4l, its used for the v6 engines that have higher compression, in order to perfect pre-ignition.

Maybe you have lower compression than normal which is causing the fuel to ignite far too late and causing such poor power generation.
