Torq2u
I ordered from smithandallan.com : 2 x 5 litres Smith & Allan ATF 3309 Synthetic ATF - JWS 3309 Toyota ATF T-1V Aisin Warner, total = £60 According to Lubos' "Cuttothechase" Youtube video, the remainder meets the spec for power steering fluid change. As already said, BUT if just draining down then you need to measure the amount drained and refill with that amount, only about 4litres drains out as the rest stays in the torque converter, you then need to do a drain down 2 more times to ensure most of the fluid is new= so run around for a week, drain, run another week drain. or pump the full amount of fluid out from the converter 1
Torq2u
Good advice. I did that partial flush. Seemed to work well judging by the colour of the ATF now.
MonsterS
That's best practice but make sure when you are filling you DO NOT over fill otherwise bang! there goes your gearbox. underfilling is slightly okay as the way it moves around in there.
