happywanderer
I own a 2002 Alphard 2.4 auto and have just been informed by my local Toyota dealer that it's not possible to obtain a replacement key because it's an import. Is this correct? Can anyone advise as my existing key is damaged and I'm not sure how long it will last! Many thanks.

Highland Explorer
It's actually super cheap and super easy. I bought a replacement key fob on ebay a couple of years ago for my 2003 Alphard. All you have to do is open up your current key fob and take the electronic part out (it's totally self contained, and literally pops right out) and pop it in the new one. Then take it in to a key cutter and get it cut before your other one breaks. Some places like Timpsons will only use their own blanks, so you'll have to fine someione who will cut the key blade you get from ebay. But that's it. It worked fine for me! Here's the link to the one I bought on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402483138579

Owners of face lifted Gen 1 machines, be careful, as what Lance has achieved will almost certainly not work for you. Gen 1 facelift needs a 4D67 immobiliser chip embedded in the key; and will probably need programming by an Auto Locksmith (or Techstream software). Alphie
Have you tried this guy, he was recommended to me by someone in the club who had used him & he was lined up to attend the club meet last year, but had to withdraw just before the event. https://www.autolockmaster.co.uk/toyota-alphard/
