The Boonies Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Has anyone had experience in obtaining spare keys in the UK for a 30 series Alphard ? I am thinking of buying a AYH30W Hybrid from Japan but it only has one key and the Vendor says he cannot get a duplicate from Toyota unless he first registers the car in his name which would slow down the export time. I am keen to have a 4 wheel drive so my choice is either the Hybrid or the AGH35 4x4 but they seem to be very rare and possibly thirstier than the Hybrid. Any advice on either subject gratefully received
MonsterS Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 You do not need to get one from Japan, any key blade can be cut and the remote as long as it's the right immobiliser chip will work. Normally you can buy them from Ali express and have a local key place cut it and programme it.
xj900kaz Posted March 16 Posted March 16 The vendor is telling lies. If its an export vehicle it is either already registered or the shaken has been cancelled ready for export. Either way getting a spare key is no big deal. PS--Im othjer end of the world and import around 30 cars a month from Japan
vxc12 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 If it helps i just got a spare same model key from ebay, and a local auto key tech came and programmed it with ease. they also cleared the keys on the car registered for safe measures. e.g. i had one key only and there were 3 keys registered to the car.
Chris.ac Posted March 21 Posted March 21 For less than £40 , you can get a vci adaptor and copy of techstream, and program a blank key yourself 1
