Sunny Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I had the rear axle bushes replaced 2 weeks ago, I've driven 100 miles and everything was fine. This morning I turned ignition on and this light is screaming at me.... all I can find is it's where the suspension adjustment switch would be if I had one.... any ideas before I phone the garage tomorrow, I was hoping to go on my first camping trip next week 🫤
BigNev Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Hiya! I'll start the guesses - is it your fog light switch? Is it actually a switch? Or just a warning lamp?
Sunny Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 My fog light switch is on the other side. This is just a light on what looks like a blanking plate. I hadn't noticed it had a little bulb before it shone so bright
Alphie Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Do you have an LPG conversion only that is where my valve saver fluid level warning light is & it looks just like that. 1
Sunny Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Yep it's lpg, I'd checked that a couple of weeks ago. I've just had another look, level is fine and it's dripping nicely. 🫤 My van has a circular prins button, the red warning light on that is off.
Alphie Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Ok. The Prins button only displays the gas level as far as I know (5 greens then a red & finally beeping when the gas runs out), so maybe worth just topping up the VSF reservoir just to check. Also maybe the sensor has developed a fault. If your van was converted by Campers Scotland I suspect it is identical to mine. Do you know where the VSF low level warning light has been put on your van, if not this light. I can only suggest giving them a call just to confirm its whereabouts.

My fog light is on the other side, and there is no switch/button just a bright red light. I'm beginning to think it might be to do with the LPG as it's the only thing I haven't had any major problems with 😂😖

I've a JLM valve save, which I check regularly, it has plenty of fluid and is dripping nicely. I'm beginning to think it's going to be the LPG as that's the only bit of the van that hasn't caused problems..... I had the lpg serviced last year but seeing as that garage's work in March failed the mot last month I'm now under the impression they botched or not really done the service! I'm going to try another garage.
BigNev Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Ah, never thought of that!! I've got the electronic version of valve saver system on our Subaru, and the red LED is just above the LPG button. If there is an electrical connector to your reservoir, can you disconnect it, see if goes quiet, and then bridge across the terminals on the car side wiring to see if it make the beep again? If I've got it right, when you disconnect it, it should break the connection of the float switch and silence the alarm- if that's what it is of course!!

And being short I have to stand on tippy toe with a torch to check it..... think it will be safest for everyone if I take it to a garage 😂
BigNev Posted October 14 Posted October 14 It's in a good spot, but I'm short too so it's a long stretch to the back of the engine bay! 🤣 Good job I've got disproportionately long arms!
Sunny Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 Okay folks, thanking you all kindly for your knowledge, I'm going with the LPG fault, it makes the most sense for an unknown light and will try and book it in with the LPG conversation guy in Newport.... better safe, than sorry when it comes to gas! 💣💥
BigNev Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Yes indeed! Please do try to find that connector first though! Another thought, turn off the lpg on the button to run on petrol, see if it does anything?? I don't know, but may go quiet if its not on gas. The electronic one actually turns it off gas if the valve saver runs out. Its linked in to the BRC system. I personally don't think that's a good thing, but that's how it's supposed to be wired.
