Hi folks, looking for some advice.

A couple of days ago my headlight was struck by some debris on the motorway kindly thrown up by the car in front of me and the headlight cover has broken as you can see in the image. I was wondering if it was possible to just replace the cover, as the headlight itself is working fine and I don't want to have to replace the whole unit given some of the prices I saw with my quick google search! If it is replaceable and someone could point me towards a good source of a new cover, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

They are expensive new, but you might find a cheaper one by asking one of the Jap Importers?

Failing that, there are several Japanese/TOYOTA spares companies, other than using main dealers.

And you could also do a search for breakers, though my sole experience was someone who wanted to charge the same price for a second hand bit as a new part from Japan.

Good afternoon, I am looking for replacement headlamp units due to an advisory on my MOT.  my vehicle is 2006 and  it's age decolourisation.

Thanks for the info that you need to replace the whole unit.  I'm reluctant to use ebay as the units advertised there may well be similarly discoloured.

Have any of you used a reliable Toyota dealer in Scotland?

Thanks and regards Graham

Thanks for that Lee.  I have heard of that. Calders Campers have already done this process before we bought the campervan from them.

Can the process be done more than once?

Cheers Graham

Thank you for the replies everyone.

It was a bit annoying to find out that I had to replace the whole thing but it's so often the way with these things.

I've bought and fitted a new headlight unit, the issue now is that the dipped beam of the new unit is adjusting very slightly lower than the original. When I turn on the car I can see the auto-adjuster is working but the beam stays slightly lower when it's done... is there a way to tweak this?

Any MOT station should be able to adjust the aim for you if that is the problem.

Has anyone removed the headlight unit.

I’m trying to get the headlight units out, I’ve removed the top 2 screws, it won’t move but can’t see anymore fixings.
I’m assuming that there must be fixing behind the bumper .

thanks

Hi Mark,

There's a screw at the bottom rear of the unit, which is covered by the bumper, so you need to remove it for access. It's also held by a slot on the bottom front so once all three screws are out, it'll need a bit of wiggling but should come free.
