Hi everyone,

just got new to me a 2.4 vellfire. Happy with it so far. This warning light has shown a few times, I think it’s to do with the fob key. I’ve put new batteries in but it still comes back then clears.
has anyone got any ideas on what it is and how to get rid permanently.
thanks

Hello Jimmy,

thank you for your reply, the light was on for a while when it happened. There was no buzzer either. I think the van is not seeing the key at times, just not really sure why though.

thank you

Your key is too far away from the start button.

You can increase this range via the obd2 port using a Bluetooth app like carscanner or techstream.

Hi Chris,

I’ve put new hopefully Better quality batteries in the fobs. The fob was always near the middle of the van. But it can still show the light.

do you think the key pick up is near the start/stop button?

thank you

That is what Chris is implying.

Leave the key closer to the start button, and see if that solves the problem.

These may help with it.

Is there any chance whatever the key is in could be reducing its signal strength at all?

There are 3 zones within the Alphard, i believe by default, the fib has to be within 100cm of the start button to work effectively.

You can expand this so that the key can be further away via the obd2 port using the right software.

Thank you all,

the key fob is now kept in the top door pocket.

so far so good, it’s a steep learning curve, enjoying the bus and enjoying forum.

thanks again
