No sound since dead battery....

Featured Replies

Hi guys, headunit issue, just want to see if it's happened to anyone else or if they have any ideas.

I have an original headunit (Japanese) but I am connected via Bluetooth.

Before the battery died I had sound from what was on my phone going through the sound system.

However now it's not giving me any sound. It works and gives sound when I use one of my daughter's CD's.

I have deleted the Bluetooth from my phone and the phone from the headunit and then reconnected, but still no sound, the phone plays (Spotify) and says it's connected to the car but nothing out of the sound system.

It's a Nhzn-x62g 76051

Any settings ideas from anyone?

Did you ever solve this issue?

I’ve just had the same thing happen to me, had to jump start my battery and everything works just no sound. It’s the stock head unit with the 18 speaker system.

Key things I’ve noticed is that pressing the volume buttons and knob no longer shows the volume on screen. I’ve got the rear TV and have noticed that no longer drops down and the option on the head unit to select the rear no longer exists.

I’ve checked no end of fuses, both engine bay and under the drivers side all look fine.

My guess is the amp might be knackered.

Anyone got any ideas?

What about the fuses on the passenger side behind the glovebox?

I see fuses 17 and 24 are marked as 'audio' for my 2005.

There may be fuses in the head unit itself, so taking that out to check is an idea.

Also check to see if there is a reset button or hole anywhere.

You may have a faulty rear screen unit.

On the 18 speaker systems, there is a MOST loopback system..

The audio signal passes through the amp, to rear screen, then back to amp.

If you look on the forum, you will find a way to bypass the rear screen, which has helped in every case of this happening.

Double checked all the fuses again today just to be sure, definitely none of those.

Pulled the trim out on the passenger side to be able to see the amp and the fan runs when powered on so at least the amp is getting power.

Chris, I see a lot of MOST loop bypass modules online is there a particular one I need? I’ll grab one and check the screen first. Hopefully it is just that. Shame though as the little one loved watching DVDs in the back on trips.

If it is the MOST loop to the screen is there a fix for it or just not worth the hassle?

If your screen is not folding down then there must be a fault with it. The bypass involves disconnecting the plug the most signal is on and using a wire to send the signal back to the amp.

There are photos and instructions here on the forum

Would that be the purple and brown wires? Purple to purple brown to brown, then audio should return just minus a tv in the back.

This thread: it depends on your exact sockets, as they changed over time.

Post on the following thread, as other members that have done this will guide you, although I originally suggested the method on that thread, I've not had to use it yet.
