Hi

I have AH20 2012 imported by a dealer a few months ago and now registered in the UK.

I have tested half a dozen mileage checking sites including the one advertised on this forum but none recognise the VIN number.

Format I am using is ATH20-800xxxx

Can someone please guide me if I am doing anything wrong?

Thanks

i do remember when i was going it i did it wrong and somehow i did it correctly after a few goes. but looking at yours it looks right format

mine was GGH20-801****

mine was a Luxury model

yes that is strange, none of the 6 odd websites I tried recognised the VIN

Sounds daft but have you tried without the hyphen? Tested mine and it’s hit or miss as to picking it up with the hyphen in.

tried without the hyphen and results still the same form all websites. No web portals recognise the VIN but the car is registered in the UK, it sounds odd.

on the document do you have any other types of codes?

As mine was GGH, it was only the luxury spec (one with airline style middle seats)

Hi, yes I did check. I checked again after reading your message but its the same. I have no idea why this is happening.

I have found the correct way to check the mileage report. If your model number has a W in the body category on your documents for example   DAA-ATH20W .

Then your VIN number would be ATH20W-800XXXX

Because in Japan some times a car is not registered using the car serial number \ chassis number but model number last part and the the numbers from the chassis number instead of the actual serial number \ chassis number.

I was successful in getting the history of my vehicle using ATH20W-800XXXX instead of ATH20-800XXXX

Very good of you to come back and let us all know the solution!

Far too many people on forums just never return to pass on the information, or even to simply say "yes that was it!", to help others, but are more than happy to use others time and effort for free to help themselves.

I do realise not everyone gets a solution though!

Appreciate your feedback @BigNev , the formula I work on is that I wanted to know more about my car hence joined this forum but if everyone just ask questions and no one replies back with any solution or advise then I wont get my desired info. I believe in Knowledge shared is Knowledge gained. Thnaks
