Hi I am have the engine light come on during most journeys - when I go above 50mph usually.  When I stop and start engine again, the light doesn't retun again unless I go up to around 50mph+
My reader gives the "too lean" info for the error code.
Does anyone have advice on this.

I have run catclean through a couple of times this summer - and seemed to solve the issue briefly... though it always returns.

It's causing me a lot of anxiety - and I suspect there has been a problem on this for a while - especially as fuel consumption has always been surprisingly large.

PLEASE could anyone advise a way to proceed and solve this issue - I understand it could simply be a faulty sensor, but also could be an air leak, filters and all sorts.  I am in West Midlands - Leamington, so if anyone knows someone that they'd recommend I speak to in reasonably local area - that would be amazing.

This thread (and others like it) may help:

I suspect you need a new MAF sensor

This is a good place to start, not an expensive fix either. I had one on my 3 litre and was the one at the rear of the engine, i managed to get a garage to sort it within 5 mins by changing it over.

If you had a leak i maybe suspect it would go in to limp mode.

Have you had a error code reader on the car?
