2003 AH10 3.0l V6 Throttle Body

Featured Replies

I have an intermittent amber engine warning light, which according to my local garage is due to a throttle body issue (diagnosed by a smoke test apparently). Has anyone else suffered the same issue? Have you fixed it without replacing the whole throttle body? Or does anyone know of a source for replacement throttle bodies?

The garage cannot tell me where it was 'leaking' and do not seem to want to do the test again with me watching...

I had a Toyota specialist for Alphard check the engine following an amber warning light and he could not find any issue with the engine.

I also consulted a second garage owned by a family friend.

Both came to the same conclusion that there is a slight blockage possibly from a speck of dirt that has got into an injector.

Have you tried an OBD scan?

If not I would invest in a JOBD scanner which gives you a good chance of finding out what is wrong.

There are threads in this forum (other fora are available) dealing with JOBD scanners.

For the really keen there is the Techstream software option available.

Personally I would get some Reddex and put that in the tank and go for a good drive to see if that helps.
