  1. Hi Veg Grower Have you identified what your switch does? I have a switch on the left hand side of the steering wheel, it is not labelled and it too illuminates when pressed, (red). It isn’t my fog lamp as that is on the other side? Thanks Phil
  2. Hi all As promised here is a photo of the ‘decorative cover.’ I might have made it sound better than it is by mistake, it is only a plastic knob. Thanks to you all for your advice and to you Rojie fo the info regarding spares. Regards Phil
  3. Hi Rojie As I was writing the post, it occurred to me about the MOT requirement so I am pleased to hear it is not mandatory. The dealer advertised the Alphard on their site and I paid a deposit without seeing it and basing the purchase on the auction grade. I have never done anything like that before but I am very pleased with the vehicle and it is as advertised, no complaints. The dealer had other Alphard’s there without rear wipers.? Nov, I’ll take a photo tomorrow and post it, but be prepared to be underwhelmed! Regards Phil
  4. Hi all Have at last collected my Alphard from the importer. I noticed that the rear wiper arm was missing and raised this with the dealer to be told that the’ thing’ in Japan is to remove the wiper arm and replace it with a decorative cover, which is what I have. I would like to fit a new arm and blade and wondered if anyone on the Forum had heard about the removal of the wiper arm and also where to get a decent replacement. There a a few on eBay but thought I would check with you all first. TIA Regards Phil

  6. Hi Earl Looks lovely, that is one clean engine! Regards Phil
  7. Hi Wendy I considered LPG but availability was an issue. The only garage locally that I know of is at Carkeel roundabout on the A38. I believe Okehampton have a garage too. Where were you planning on getting the conversion? There is a place in Plymouth but it isn’t on the LPG scheme. I found a garage that was and they quoted £3,300, which meant it would take me about 3 to 4 years before I saw a return on the investment. Plus at the moment you can’t take LPG on the Channel Tunnel so I have decided against it at the moment. Hope this helps. Regards
  8. Hi Harvo Welcome. Another Devon based Alphard owner, there are quite a few on here! Midge looks lovely, where abouts in Devon are you? I’m still waiting for mine, not due until end of November. Regards Phil
  9. Hi Rojie Just like Catweazle, I thought your Alphie had been nicked! Once I realised it was at the converters I nearly burst! It seems we have a lot in common. Regards Phil
  10. Hi all Good point raised by starider. Thank you. Rojie, would appreciate an update on your night-time test to see if your rear fog lamps are reflectors also? Regards
  11. Hi Pete31 Take a look at Hulkster77’s photo’s at the bottom of the home page. Think I read he took his caravan to Italy and Benidorm but I might be mistaken. It’s a huge caravan but I don’t know what motor is in his Alphard. Regards Phil59
  12. Hi Gyro Found this on the Forum which may help? August 16, 2017 in Toyota Alphard Servicing Regards Phil
  13. Hi Rojie et al. I have checked the MOT requirements on the GOV.UK website and note that whilst no wattage is specified it does say that the function of the rear fog lamp must not be adversely affected by the operation of any other lamp. The fog lamp can be included in any rear position lamp and LED lights are ok providing the light emitted is steady. I take it from this that as long as the fog lamp is brighter than the other lamps it should be ok. I’ll give it a go and see what happens at the MOT. Regards Phil
  14. I too would be very interested in attending a club meet, it would be really good to share ideas/ knowledge of our mutual interest.
  15. Hi Rojie Thank you, hadn’t thought of that. I’ll have a look at the MOT requirements. Regards Phil
