For my 2009 Toyota Alphard with a disabled access seat, Advance Insurance quoted £861 with 5 years NCD and my wife as a named driver, I went for it. I pay £450 on Mercedes B180 with everything else being the same (postcode with high car thefts). Adrian Flux couldn't quote for some reason, Mark Richards quoted £1680 blaming my postcode!! I will look for a better quote next year, but wanted to grab the first reasonable quote this time.
Thanks all for sharing information, very useful.
Hi David,
I see you didn't get any response here, but did you manage to find this out from elsewhere? I am trying to find an Alphard/Vellfire with a disabled access seat, but it's quite hard to find what I like (with twin sun/moon-roofs, good specs). So I was wondering if I can buy one without the mobility seat and then retrofit such a seat later, probably sourcing it from somebody who no longer needs a mobility seat.
Thanks
Wasim
Hi Big fella, did you manage to source the tyres for your welcab seat? I am trying to find an Alphard/vellfire with s similar wheelchair seat, but not sure if these wheelchair seats will add any value compared to the regular mobility access seats that do not detach from the car. A car I liked had an electric wheelchair but the battery charger was missing and I am trying to find out if it is possible to source such spares.
Thanks
Wasim
