  1. Hi guys, thought I would update you on the issues I had with my Alphard. So turns out it was two seized capilers and nothing to do with Speedo sensors. I guess because they went at the same time as chip was replaced, the chaps working on it, it's was easy to think it was electrical, ABS issues . All back on the road, all be it with new speed sensors I didn't need but glad it's fixed. Cheers for everyone's help
  2. Cheers for the advice Geralt.will see what the garage says after they look at it
  3. Hi Werdna, Sadly not yet. It's going to a garage tomorrow to get looked at. They are a specialist tuning shop with a rolling road. Just in case I've replaced the Brake light switch, as I've read posts with other cars that it can cause issues if failing and the car jams the brakes on. Will update once it been looked at. Cheers
  4. Hi Rojie, old chip went in the bin but now it's back to factory but I have the new one that came out today.
  5. Hi Geralt, thanks for the reply. It's just such strange how the brake issue only came after the chip was swapped and now the gear issue.
  6. Hi again guys, the issue is turning into a nightmare! On Wednesday i had the chip replaced on the van. Took it for a drive and the speedo worked but then for no reason the front brakes jammed on. I didn't realise at first but as it took a while for them to slowly jam on the more i drove. Managed to get it back and then they stuck to the point that the van wouldn't move, it was like the handbrake was on. The guy removed the chip but still the same issue with the brakes and then he installed another chip. 2 hours later they said it was the speedo sensors on the transmission making the abs come on over 20mph. They disconnected the sensors and the battery and then i was able to move the van but didn't get far before they jammed again. Slowly got it home and the brakes set on fire because they got so hot while driving. I cooled them down and another couple of hours later they were free again. Today i had both the sensors replaced, drove it for 5 mins and all seemed well. Started to drive to the garage to get the brakes checked after they got so hot and then the brakes jammed on again. The auto electrician who did the chip drove past, removed the chip completely and got me moving again so i could get home, same thing happened again. The issue seems to come on as the gears change, it's like they get mixed up and then the brakes lock on. I have spent £400 in the last few days and its now worse than it was before the chip was changed. I have no engine management lights on and I'm really stuck as to what to do next with it. Any advise would be so appreciated . Cheers guys
  7. Hi again Wisey, i have just read your post about the similar issue. Did you have an issue with the idle when the engine management light was on and it showing the P0500 code. Mine was running great but noticed yesterday at start up it would idle at 2000rpm then settle down but in reserve felt like it wanted to stall. You think those issues are just because the engine management light is on so the engine goes into a sort of limp home mode? Would be so happy if it's just the chip. Seems like you went through all the same issues as me. Cheers
  8. Hi guys, Thanks for the info, will get the dealer i bought it from to check the speed chip first before replacing anything. Whilst there was an old fault code for the brake light switch, the brake lights work fine and not been a problem. It was the mechanic who did the diagnostic today that said the brake switch was faulty, even though the lights work and it could possibly affect the abs which in turn could cause the speed sensor fault. When you guys had the similar issue, did you get no speed showing and no increase in miles when driven? Cheers
  9. Hi guys, Hope everyone is well? I need some urgent help with my 2007 2.4 auto petrol Alphard please. Van has been great but for some reason, every time i book a week away in it something goings wrong! The engine management has come on and the speedo is not working and its not registering the miles driven. I have a fault reader and its showing P0500 speed sensor. Took it to the place i bought it for advise and they scanned it with their machine and shows that code but also that the brake light sensor has gone faulty to, no ABS fault though. We are due to go away next Sunday so need it sorting ASAP. I know from a researching online it could be 3 things: The brake light sensor ABS sensors Transmission speed sensor I have looked online for the brake light sensor which i think the part number is 84340-69025 but on Ebay the Alphard one is £50 but if i google the number that same part number fits other Toyota but doesn't say Alphard for £15? I want to cover all bases and get the parts ordered, so could do with help with the part codes for these items and also not sure how many ABS sensors and transmission senors there are. Any help on this would be greatly apricated so we can get away next week. Cheers
  10. Cheers Smurf, I will get the garage to take a look when it has it's service
  11. Cheers, It only happens when either in drive and I have my foot on the brake or in reverse but goes away when I move. In reverse I can feel the vibration in the whole van
  12. It's definitely coming from the rear, I have it booked in for a full service soon so will have my garage take a look.
  13. Hey Picasso, thanks I got it from them and took there today. They had a look but it didn't do it when I showed them but did when I got home. Was just looking anyone may have had a similar issue. Cheers
  14. Thanks Rojie, sorry I should have said I've had the van 2 years now and no more warranty. I live very close to the dealer and just popped in for some advice. They are very helpful.
