Hi Grant I am just come to the end of my search for a head unit. I have. a 2010/11 Alphard with the same design. I wanted a 13" screen to replace it. Unless you want to gamble on a cheap one from China which no one has managed to fit in the UK yet. (Oh there are 13" screens available in the UK but they will set you back north of £1K) Then you are stuck with a screen the size of your current one. There are several good ones around and they will fit your configuration.
Hi Gary,
I am working on the same issue. I understand it goes next to the car battery, but that's as far as I've got so far. I might have more info later this week after I visit Fantastic Campers . I do know one needs to keep it away from the heat of the engine block. But I suspect you already know that.
Cheers
Richard
Does anyone know if this unit:
12.1 inch Android 13 For Toyota Alphard Vellfire 20 Series 2008-2014 Tesla Style Car DVD Player GPS Navigation Radio Head Unit
will fit an Alphard 2011 which is not a Vellfire?
I am hoping to install a good modern-looking and high-spec functioning unit in my 2011 which is newly arrived with a unit that chats away in Japanese.
If there are any real good unit already on the market here I would love to know about them rather than importing .
Cheers
Richard
Hi Jezmond. Great to hear you managed to fit the battery under the bonnet. Would it be too much trouble to send me a photo showing how it was fitted? It looks like we have travelled the same route. My 2.4 Alphard is to replace my 3.5 Elgrand which, if I was lucky gave me 20 miles to the gallon. On the long drive home to Edinburgh from collecting the Alphard down south I got 40 miles to the gallon. I am not sure that I believe that result myself, so I plan to check it again. Home to hear from you. Best
I am thinking of putting the leisure battery in the engine compartment and wonder if anyone has already done this and are able to show me the design of the housing, particularly to protect it from the engine heat? I do know it been done, I have just never seen it myself? Cheers. Richard
I am about to convert my Alphard 2011 too. camper. So the two middle seats and the three rear seats are looking for a new home.
Anyone interested? Let me know and I'll take some photos for you.
Many thanks for your input. The HUD sounds interesting. I would rather see it without looking down. Can you buy them and fit them yourself? If so where can you get them?
Thanks Dave that is the most interesting link so far. I drove my Alphard up from Derby to Edinburgh yesterday the the speed showing in Kl/H I little confusing. Did you use the system in the link in your car?
