  1. We have owned a 3L 2002 Alphard for 3 & a half years now & live in Essex. First year with Sky, no problem - no need to claim. From the second year we went with Advance ( who insured us with Ageas) - upon having a no fault (to us) rear ender the other side's insurer (Admiral) wanted to write our vehicle off, we did not want this, Ageas had a proper engineer employed by them work with us, we got a satisfactory repair at no cost to ourselves & no increases in premiums subsequently because of the accident. We are still with Ageas & I sing their praises because Admiral were frankly nasty & Ageas got our claim sorted at their inconvenience & at Admiral's cost!
  2. Yes I've seen the ad's for the Hampshire dealers, when we were looking they seemed overpriced, but our local people were either rubbish or didn't have what we wanted hence we ended up importing via Algy (& there's a story there i can tell on request) because we wanted a 3L in Bordeaux red, County Cars had a basic but OK one but it was a 2.4 & having had a very loyal Noah for 3+ years, thought we would always desire the "betterment" of a V6. That said we drove a 2.4 & couldn't say it wasn't very good. So live in Romford & bought in Bristol, oh well!
  3. Hi again Alex, good to see you decided to join up too. I'm Phil & we've had a 3 Litre for over 2 years now, as to it being quiet I suppose it will take a time for word to spread & that's part of the job of all members here - the more members the more knowledge so the greater the activity.
  4. In our 3rd year of Alphard ownership so tried a few insurance companies for quotes. 1st year was Sky then found Advance Insurance in Chippenham (after Sky wanted a huge premium hike & no claim to justify it). Last Sept. wife got bashed up the rear (bumper & tailgate damage no rear lights broken) The other party's Admiral Insurance admitted immediate liability they took the car then said it could not be repaired. I went back to Advance who put me in touch with Ageas our actual insurer. Ageas sorted out all problems admirably. This year's renewal had no price hike. Throughout the claim/repair process of 2+ months we were driving a Htundai I800 at no cost to ourselves. Our Alphard is now (very nearly) as good as it was before the accident. Advance & Ageas have been brilliant so I recommend them wholeheartedly, Admiral I have concerns about - they are insuring peoples Alphard & apparently a minor accident would result in them wanting to scrap the vehicle! this was an option we were never going to accept
