Hi. Mine has never said that, but it is greyed out unlike your pic. The kids have now lost the remote for the monitor 😭😭 which means I can't actually use that function any more. Can't get a replacement for love nor money ( lots of it : they go for nearly £100 ). But to enable it in the first place, and have that floating icon, is in " video" tab in settings. You have obviously done that. Once I had the icon, I would run a video in the default player, and it works show on the monitor. I need to borrow someone's original remote to program a learning remote before I can get it all going again.

Rear tv / dvd screen v16n-r57c
av02 replied to MarkyC's topic in Toyota Alphard (08-15) Technical Guides
Hi. Ok, so this was the link : I just found this on AliExpress: £464.76 | 12.1inch 256GB Tesla Screen Android 13 Car Radio For Toyota VELLFIRE Alphard H20 2008 - 2014 RHD GPS Multimedia Video Player HU https://a.aliexpress.com/_EH1do1Q HOWEVER, the seller had a long conversation with me after sale, asking for pics of the front AND back of the factory fit, age of car, model, etc, etc. He then said I needed a different one, with a built in amp for the 18 speakers. My advice : talk to the seller via msgs about your requirements. -
Hi! Ok, so this was the stereo : Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! £435.61 | 12.1inch 256GB Tesla Screen Android 13 Car Radio For Toyota VELLFIRE Alphard H20 2008 - 2014 RHD GPS Multimedia Video Player HU https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwYCmtX Made me pay about 100 more for a " fibre adaptor" which was nothing of the sort! It basically bypasses the factory amp under the passenger seat, and uses it's own added on amp. But yeah, all works. His ovhd monitor adaptor was basically a box that converted the hdmi out to 2 RCA. I ran one of these to the ovhd monitor connector. Again, plug and play as he provides a breakout cable with an RCA on it. That's it really. The volume was low because there is an amp setting in the "car settings" menu. And no rear camera, but parking sensors and door open warnings are shown

I'll bear that in mind. Sounds like you have far more experience than I do. Small steps. I'll do just the fronts at first.
-
Hi, and thanks so much for the reply. Yes, I was thinking 6 x 9 for the 4 main door ones too. I may start off doing this, and then see what it sounds like. You're absolutely right : the sound stage is much better in the back, as the kids keep telling me! Much like when I had my estima, swapping out the main door ones will make a works of difference. I'll post here about how it goes.

Rear tv / dvd screen v16n-r57c

Nice one, Chris. Will have to explore when I have time -
Ok, so the tesla style unit is working well, and the 18 speaker system sounds ok at low/moderate volumes, but despite that factory sub, not so good when you push it. I was going to upgrade the six main door and rear body speakers for beefier 2 ways, but any ideas on subs and placement? I can probably do 2 8" actives on the floor at the back, one each side, maybe?

Rear tv / dvd screen v16n-r57c
av02 replied to MarkyC's topic in Toyota Alphard (08-15) Technical Guides
Hello, Neil. I got a 2010 vellfire a few weeks ago, with the 18 speaker system and factory roof monitor, no 360 cameras. This Tesla style unit was plug and play, made by navirider, from Ali Express It came with a hdmi out socket. The retailer provided a small black box, that converted the digital hdmi to 2 analogue RCA's. I then connected a standard single RCA lead from this box upto the roof monitor. Retailer also provided a breakout lead, which plugged into the roof monitor, and the original connector then went into the other side of the lead. It had an RCA cable coming off it. I plugged my RCA extension into it and it all worked, initially mirrored the display, but with help from the retailer and his engineer on WhatsApp, found out there was a hdmi assistant built in. With this enabled, you can have a video coming out the back, whisky your satnav or whatever is showing up front It was completely plug and play. Only one fly in the ointment: the rear camera won't work. I have another on its way. But, steering wheel controls work. Also, there is some canbus interface : a display pops up with which door/boot has opened, in reverse, despite the current blank picture (!) the parking sensors show up with proximity lines, and the steering guide lines are dynamic, so once I get a camera in, I won't have lost anything. I intend to do this with a wireless transmitter/receiver kit, as I did on my estima. There are a few small issues : you can only drop the rear monitor with the remote. It's buttons are very limited, obvious, so volume, next/previous video, is about it. One of them goes from normal to wide 1, followed by wide 2. This button finally got the display on the monitor full screen. -
HEAD UNIT to MONITOR

Final piece of the puzzle : there was an hdmi assistant button, which alters hdmi out. This was off in the extensive settings. So all ok now
-
Oh yeah, and the 4 wires coming out of my camera are red, black, white, white with black stripe. I tried to get it going with a 6v Stepdown and a transmitter/receiver assy, but no luck. I assumed : red 6v. Black gnd. White video +, white with black stripe video-. Nothing upfront. Transmitter comes on with reverse lamp. Receiver is on ACC up front, so assuming it's the camera wiring I have mixed up.

Ok, so further update : the "360 adaptor" didn't work. Refunded though. Their camera doesn't fit well, so ordered a (hopefully) better one. The roof monitor is in portrait, lol! So after running in an RCA lead, it seems the hdmi to VGA box they provided is mirroring only, and the head unit is set to portrait only, unchangeable. I guess it worked well with the upper, landscape head units, but not this Tesla style one.

Ok, stereo arrived today. It really was plug and play. No rear camera image, he did say, and has chucked in a rear camera. But everything else works., including steering wheel controls, and the amp for the 18 speaker system, which sounds so much better going thru a DSP! Aircon controls all work well. It's 8gb ram, so android 13 is butter smooth, and thanks to android 13, I have wireless android auto. A great upgrade. My one gripe with the seller : he gave a breakout cable for the roof monitor, but it plugs in at the monitor. It has a yellow RCA out lead, so I'll now have to get about 5/6 m RCA lead and get it down to the head unit. Small gripe for now. A good purchase, I think. Oh yeah, and it has canbus built in interface to a degree : shows when any door or the tailgate is open. So now just waiting on that gvif box, which hopefully will resurrect the original rear camera. Screen protector still on it, so may look a bit washed out in the pic!!

Ok, cars back home and so went and checked : WY21W, which I think equates to T20.
-
I was going to fit switchback DRL's in place of the indicators. From deciphering The manual and looking for equivalents, can anyone confirm that the indicator bulbs are PY21W fitting? The switchback ones come with several plug and play connections, you have to choose the fit.

I haven't seen what's what at the ECU. My understanding is that analogue from my rear camera arrives at the ECU. Digital leaves it (gvif) and goes to the head unit. The adaptor I have purchased will, hopefully, take that digital and go back to analogue at the head unit. I shall try to remember to take pics as I go, and post them all here.
-
Ah. I was led to believe you either have the gvif, which is then 360 compatible whether you have the system fitted or not, or the old analogue type connector, 4 wires, red, black, white, yellow.
-
Ah just reread your msg. Yes, it's the blue gvif connection ( Gigabit Video Interface) at the ECU, and then up at the head unit same again. So hopefully, won't need to go to the ECU. Apparently, some sellers chuck in a lead which goes down from head unit to ECU and make it work that way. I have been led to believe all connections are at the head unit. The seller was very communicative, but the language barrier means I am still unsure whether it will work😂😂

Hi, Laurence. Yep, that's it, and the adaptor I got should do it. Company in UK, Audiotechdirect say in their blurb that it will do 370 cameras, or just rear. £100 unfortunately! But the same thing in Ali Express for about £40 after tax and shipping. I got this : Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! £30.49 | SKYFAME Car 360 Original Panoramic Reversing Camera Decoder Canbus Box For Toyota LDVS To CVBS https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyQR3JH The B mod one. Both it and the stereo still in transit. If you can wait a few weeks, I can confirm if it worked .
-
Hi, Chris. No side or front cameras, just rear. I do not have IPA, but was led to believe The IPA ecu is fitted, and this is where the analogue video feed ends up. from there, with dynamic steering overlay, it ends up being the blue gvif. That;s what has got me to the adaptor. Stereo now in the country, looks like I will have it within a week, with the adaptor to follow maybe 1-2 weeks after.
-
Ah ok, wasn't aware of that!

Ok.... So got somewhere. I think !! The search term is Toyota 360 camera adapter. This chap has 2 variants : Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! £30.79 | SKYFAME Car 360 Original Panoramic Reversing Camera Decoder Canbus Box For Toyota LDVS To CVBS https://a.aliexpress.com/_EjxrnJ9 He replied to my query, saying it's "MOD B" for my ANH20. I Now that I have the right search term, found loads of stores selling this. So I have msged them all to ask. I have also msged the guy I am buying the head unit from. He said he would talk to their engineer and get back to me. I think, that at about £36 delivered, I may just go for it and see. I shall update on this post after everything arrives.

And thanks so much for the wiring diagram. Hopefully, that adaptor will work. I'll let you know! 👍🏾
