Typically, the one day we have some sun, the large motorized sunroof will not open. The motor makes a nasty gear grindy noise. Is there an easy way to get to the mechanism so I can take a look?

I've been told by my insurance, there will be no issue from their point of view so I'm booking a fitting

Hi. I have similar worries about towing having now bought one. It appears you should not tow with an Alphard as Toyota never stamped the Vin plate with a weight it is capable of pulling. All info I have suggests although capable you could have null insurance if you have an accident. I've written to Toyota and will post if I get any more info.

Hi. I have just been reading that the Alphard should not be used for towing as there is no weight stamped on the Vin plate and is therefore not certified. Has anyone had any issues with this?

Thanks Dave. Are you happy with what you hae had fitted? Did you have to cut the bumper ? I was hopng to find retractable so sensors arent an issue . Could you share a finished pic ?

add Hi All. I have seen and read that my 2003 has isofix on the middle set of seats (both outer seats) and that child seats must not be fitted in the fold up seats. My Isofix seat comes with a tether strap which should be fixed to an anchor point so the seat can be used forward facing. I notice there is a metal ring / loop on the back of the middle seats but from what I can tell normally an anchor point woud have a symbol showing its use. Can anyone tell me if this fixing is meant to be an anchor for a child seat tether ? CHeers Drive

I've just answered my own last post really. None of the switches in my centre consol or the door switches to the right were lit. So following the vid on youtube I popped the centre out and checked the bulbs in the denso control box. They were all dead. It was lucky that the passenger belt light used the same bulb so I was able to confirm it was bulb and nothing more sinister. I checked the local shops but couldn't find any so sent some pics with sizes to Craig at Auto-leds.Co. UK (through ebay) and within a couple of days I had led replacements fitted. Cant recommend the service highly enough so if you need bulbs try him.. Replacements were 10mm SMD LED T4.2 Neo Wedge.. Oh and ps, I've got some 8mm varients coming for the door switches.

Thanks. All of the dash bulbs appear to have blown and the gear selector bulb was faulty. I've ordered led upgrades and will post pics and spec once I know they fit. I've ordered white so will remove the green caps from any others. (matches the speedo better)

I know how forums help as previously had the Hiace Super Custom and made the owners forum.. SO im hoping some kind person could tell me... Should the bulk of the switches ( heater controls, etc) be lit once the lights are on ? Ive seen fuse 14 is labelled as switch illumination but tests o.k. (what a B****rd to get to !) The window switches and suspension selector lights but most dont. The Gear selector also occasionally lights so have to look at that. Are these common faults ?? The skirt on the bottom of the drivers door is loose and doesnt sit flush when the door is shut. Ive had a quick look but cant see how it attaches or how to get it off to fix it.. Thanks in advance.. Hi from Brizzle. New owner as of yesterday and know how important an owners forum is. Previous owner and forum admin of the Hiace super custom so am hoping for the same reliability. I'm sure I'll be asking some newbie questions so bear with 😁
