  1. Thanks for that Google Search Idea Rojie, different words in the search engine to what I was using!! Came up with this document. Two screen shots below, first top of doc, second is the one I'm hoping for!! Many thanks Phil
  2. Thanks for the comments folks. Unfortunately when I bought the car two years ago from Newacre Cars & Conversions (i.e. at the start of lockdown and DVLA 'Working from home') I didn't receive the V5C. After 6 months I went through the process of ordering a new log book through the DVLA, which turned up three months later. I was so happy to finally get one that I didn't notice the lack of engine number on the document. As mentioned in a post above, I did send the purchase receipt from Newacre where they had done the conversion themselves, but the DVLA sent a letter back saying they needed the engine number, with the letter worded as if they thought a new engine had been fitted. I have asked Paul Mckeown at Newacre for info but he hasn't replied to my e-mails. I am guessing this is one of those things that is easy to see when the engine is undressed and out of the car.....
  3. Hi Folks, I am sure the answer to this question is on here, but I couldn't find it.... To try and get my LPG conversion written up on the registration document they are asking for the engine number, which is currently not on it. I can't see it with a quick look in the engine bay. Anyone know where it is? 2005 V6 MZ. There is a video on Youtube, but only shows the 2.4L. Thanks in advance
  4. Hi, When I built a Westfield years ago I was able to get insurance from Adrian flux based on the chassis number, for that first journey to the MOT station. The MOT station did similar with the MOT certificate, then I went up to the VRO in Sheffield and once they had sorted out a registration number, I went back to the insurance and they updated documents. Not sure if that still works now? I didn't import mine directly, I got it from Newacre Cars who were in Coventry then. If the MOT station is any good, they should fail a direct import of the age of MOST Alphards, as they don't fit rear fog lights in Japan, which are a requirement over here. Paul McKeown at Newacre found rear fogs that exactly matched the bumper rear reflectors, and wires them in with a new switch on the lower right dashboard.
  5. Hi I had my V6 converted 2 yrs ago when I bought it, from Newacre cars and conversions, who were based in Coventry then. They charged £1500 for the conversion. Great job, 60 litre tank where spare went. 20mpg on a long run. However I still haven't been able to get the reg document changed over. They are now asking for engine number, which I haven't found yet, and it wasn't on the reg document, which never turned up from DVLA, I had to order a new one after 6months. Here in South Lincolnshire I find that four local towns stock it, with price varying...Spalding Morrisons @ 72.9p / Litre, up to 99p/litre in Sleaford. However, now that BP and Shell have removed it from their forecourts I do have issues when away from home. Going up the A1 from lincolnshire to Wigan, the older stockists have actually removed it, so couldn't actually get any, on the A1 or M62. I am sure you can get it if your delve into the back streets. But looking at the LPG stockists website, it is quite out of date. Abroad, their motorway service signs say if they stock it or not, before you pull over and waste your time looking for it.... This is my 5th LPG vehicle and i am a big fan, but with availability issues away from home as petrol forecourts turn over to electric charging points instead of LPG tanks means I probably won't convert another vehicle. Some insurance companies won't touch them but I got a very good deal at Mark Richard Brokers. Sorry to sound negative!! Anyone know where the engine number is on a V-6?
  6. Hi Derek, I have only just joined the forum, so I guess you have sorted this problem. But for me, I bought my Alphard in March from NewAcre cars of Coventry. On collection apparantly the valeters had broken on cable by forcing thedoor faster than the motor was doing it, so it was broken when we collected it. Paul McKeown, the boss, says he has a good relationship with his local Toyota dealer, and he got one within a week. He reckons he buys so much from them it is in their interest to be helpful. He says he can fit a complete new unit in an hour. If your handy with the tools, he would probably get one for you. Cheers Phil
  7. Sorry - I can't find a workshop manual either. But I had a problem with the sliding door when we bought ours. Newacre cars at Coventry said the valeters had forced the door open rather than wait for the motor.... Paul at New acre has quite a good relationship with his local Toyota dealer and got a new cable kit from them in a few days. Sorry if it's not much help if you're trying to do the job yourself..
  8. I Bought my Alphard 3 litre form Newacre cars in Coventry in March, finally getting the keepers logbook in October..... Having fitted new tyres on supplying the car, the inner edges of the fronts have already got marked wear on them. I have bought the NZ translations of the handbook, but can't find a value for setting the tracking. I know a lot of modern cars run 20' toe out, but this does cause a lot of wear, especially considering the negative camber that most have, so I'm happier running toe-in. Does anyone have a value, or can point me to a table? Thanks
