MonsterS Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Does anyone have a thought on reconditioning yellow headlights? I was told meguires is good but not sure found a Holt's kit for £20 at my local Car parts place. 1
minkey Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Hi to all from Newbie. Have had my 2005 Alphard 3.0 MS Premium G ( Alcantara spec ) for a year now and enjoying ownership greatly. When I first got the car 12 months ago I had a go at the yellowing which was apparent on the headlights. I used a mild abrasive polish on them similar to T cut ( it was a white creamy liquid and a French equivalent to T cut ). I was amazed at how much yellow came off on the cloth - and the headlights looked so much brighter and less yellow when I had finished. 12 months on , it now needs doing again. Also had a chat with my MOT tester today ( best condition 13 year old car he has EVER seen ). He suggested that it may be possible to clear coat plastic headlights with 2 pack lacquer once they are cleaned up, and this is something he is going to look into, so this may be a lasting cure. 1
Alphard Club Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 rub down and lacquer is the best way to go for sure. 1
sax0tone Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I have a 2005 Alfie and it had very yellow headlights, I used plenty of bicarbonate of soda with plenty of water , looked amazing afterwards 😀
