We have just bought an Alphard which is having a rear kitchen conversion done.  We don't have a reg. number yet as this is an import and we're waiting on the DVLA.  I therefore can't get an insurance quote.  Could somebody give me an idea of cost for driver + 1 named driver please?  Thank you.

Hi, I'm in a similar position,  no reg number yet, got a quote through Adrian Flux as direct line couldn't find Alphard on their database,  £386 with £800 excess but for an extra £52 you can insure against your excess up to £1000 so £438 with no excess if you don't have to make a claim, that's with maximum no claims. May try others once I have reg number. Hope this helps.

Try Mark Richards, They deal with alphards day in and day out. Well worth asking them. Mine cost £388 for the year with 8 years NCD

Anyone else had trouble insuring the 2.4 Hybrid? I'm collecting mine next Monday and on the comparison sites only the 3L petrol comes up. If anyone has suggestions of where to try I'd be most grateful 😁

Try Adrian Flux 0344 381 4420 - we use them for our Alphard.  Regards Patrick

Just taken delivery of our Alphard.  Insured through Adrian Flux.  Got a very good deal.  Basic price, with me as sole driver, was £305.  I opted for a couple of extras on top of that.  Hope this is helpful.

Sounds like a great deal, well done, enjoy your car.

Hi , I’ve just been quoted off Adrian flux £890 it’s a 2.4l & live in a Liverpool postcode but surely there can’t be that big a difference

One thing I have noticed most underwriters only appear to have 3litre on the database & won’t quote me

I got mine through Safeguard with AA breakdown included, it was around £380 from memory, I'd shop around more.

Hi, I have just had a quote of around £1000 from Adrain Flux but got one through Aviva for £400!  Adrain Flux tried to scare me however saying that the online quote probably wasn't right.  It has worked but I simply do not understand when I Iive in a sleepy Devon village why it would be so much.  It is worth saying I have 3 points but that shouldn't make any different - they did make a big deal of the fact I work in the music industry.  I feel I should go with the quote from Aviva.

Have you tried Safeguard? I'd definitely go with Aviva based on your 2 quotes but shop around, others say direct line and ok if you phone them ( can't find Alphard online).

Done a few quotes and Aviva is significantly cheaper than the others AND provide a higher level of cover in several regards.

Hi,

I have just insured 2008 2.4 with RAC, it is underwritten by Aviva. £365 including basic breakdown cover.

I tried Adrian Flux. Hard sell techniques, major efforts to upsell.

I normally pay my insurance monthly.

APR at Adrian Flux is almost 40 percent. Forty, not four. Extortionate !

I had never heard of the Insurer  (Markerstudy).

I insured my Alphard, a Jaguar XJR (rocketship) and a Ford Fiesta for about £550 with Aviva. (APR about 13 percent)

Alphard with Aviva, no problem, although the excesses on the Alphard ("import") and the Jaguar ("rather sporty") were a little higher than I had hoped for.

Agree with above poster AF were massively higher than any other Co I spoke with.

We will go with Caravan Guard (used before) and spoke with them on the phone so happy they will cover, and we get the cover we need, same excess as AF...oh and they were nearly 45% LESS than Flux for same cover, CG offering £390 ...RIP OFF.

We are getting an 05 3.0l with mileage around 8k a year...can't wait to get it now.

I have just insured our 2.4 2005 Alphard and spoke to Colin at Advanced.

He was great £410 fully comp UK and EU travel along with Breakdown in the UK and EU and legal protection.  Was very impressed.

How old is your child? I ask cos my son will soon be 17 and I thought it might actually not be too expensive to put him on the alphard insurance.

Adrian Flux used to be good.

But what has happened to them these days ?

they caused me loads of problems last time I used them, & they seem to have turned into bread head rip off merchants 😞

sad to see a good company go down the drain.

And now they are claiming to be specialist in Alphard insurance.

They are a joke 😞

Bit of a nightmare this year for some reason, £431 with adrian flux, £350 last year.

Ok, Thanks, slightly different situation to me then! … well, I’ll still have a look at the price for adding a 17 yr old to the Alphard policy. Cheers.
