Hi All,

Serviced the Alphard. Dropped oil and replaced.air filter and plugs. Topped up with oil and fired up straightaway. Revs well in neutral and park.

But when it goes into reverse the revs drop and it judders also seems to be lacking power when driving.

I've services cars for years and wondering it is just coincidence or something I'm missing.

Hi there! Have you still got the old plugs, to swap back in, in case you've got some fakes in the engine now?

Is your parking brake stuck on?

Neither of those.

Tried same either way

When you replaced the air filter, did all the vacuum lines and hoses go back on?

Sorry, asking simpleton questions of someone that's been doing this for years. Just trying to build a picture and eliminate the obvious.

My first idea, from you description, was that the parking brake was stuck on, even if you released it, like it had seized. However, does it judder when you're in gear, but stationary, or only when moving?
