Picasso Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I had my axle bushes changed last October for the mot as they failed I been having a knocking noise coming from the rear so took my Alphard back to where I had the mot done they put it up on the ramp and I was shocked to find both axle bushes have failed again the mechanic who did the job said he seen nothing like it he said they was worse than the old ones I supplied the bushes which I bought off eBay £45 a pair there are dearer ones on eBay £85 a pair I contacted the company JDM in Leominster his add 2 year warranty unlimited warranty won’t honour the warranty because your only covered for 3 months on eBay and he knows I have no chance getting a refund beware the cheaper ones on eBay are cheap sub standard rubbish . Learnt a very valuable lesson today and a costly one have ordered new bushes heavy duty ones and going to cost me again £350 labour to have them fittedÂ
BigNev Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Absolutely disgusting! Thank you for the heads up on that company.
Picasso Posted March 28 Author Posted March 28 Problem is not just jdm selling them it seems eBay has been flooded with the cheap ones will give update when new ones arrive and fitted want to compare the old ones to the new onesÂ
BigNev Posted Saturday at 09:35 AM Posted Saturday at 09:35 AM Are original Toyota ones still available? I'm just wondering about the potential extra cost of them, against the possibly much earlier failure of pattern parts.... But if the heavy duty ones you've ordered for this time are from a good source, I'd certainly hope they'd be up to the task 🤞 or maybe even better than original!
Picasso Posted Saturday at 11:45 AM Author Posted Saturday at 11:45 AM hi Neville genuine Toyota £180 + vat each I wont pay that . the ones i have gone for are £85 a pair just looking at them they are far better quality the cheap ones hardly have any rubber in them and they are heavier than the cheap ones .Â
BigNev Posted Saturday at 12:19 PM Posted Saturday at 12:19 PM Woh thats seriously heavy money!! I'd do the same as you on that then!!
smurf Posted Saturday at 03:32 PM Posted Saturday at 03:32 PM Are you sure genuine ones are £180+VAT each? Amayama are selling OEM for about £45 each delivered from Japan.Â
Gamith Posted Saturday at 08:23 PM Posted Saturday at 08:23 PM (edited) Funny enough I was talking to a Mazda MX5 owner earlier today and told him about amayama.com and he was rather shocked that a part he had been looking for was around a third of the price on amayama. A good source it must be said. Â Edited Saturday at 09:18 PM by Gamith Changed the text for clarity. 1
Michael Brown Posted Monday at 11:15 AM Posted Monday at 11:15 AM I eventually had my trailing arm bushes done, about 2 months ago by my local mechanic Colin Campbell. He said they were a swine to do. I must find out where he got the bushes from. Total Job came to £555.. He made a punch to knock them out
Catweazle Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Booked in with Ben hau at Harmony motors in birmingham on Monday for rear bushes to be done. He has quoted £350 for the job, which seems reasonable. Hopefully he uses decent quality bushes... Alphie is still pulling to the left, with a lot of rear knocking which sounds like the passenger rear door area. Noticed today that the rear driver tyre that i've had on for 8 months or less is seriously worn on the inner edge. I'm praying that this will be a miracle cure. Fingers crossed.
