Andy L Posted Saturday at 03:30 PM Posted Saturday at 03:30 PM Hi all, newbie here. Anyone know how to re-set imobiliser on a 08 Alphard? The vehicle has a keyless system. Managed to override and get the engine running, but everything else is still not working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy L

Are you suggesting your "managed to override and get engine running" allowed you to drive the vehicle ?
Andy L Posted Saturday at 06:37 PM Author Posted Saturday at 06:37 PM yes I could move the vehicle albeit without the power steering and the use of the wing mirrors. The use of the automatic selection was unavailable until I used the release button, which when in normal operation you don't need to engage. I'm thinking this is a default mode to enable the vehicle to be loaded onto a recovery vehicle. Any ideas?
BigNev Posted Saturday at 08:08 PM Posted Saturday at 08:08 PM Has it been jump started, and maybe it's blown a main fuse?
Andy L Posted Sunday at 08:57 AM Author Posted Sunday at 08:57 AM (edited) Hi, yes I did jump start it mainly to prove it should run, no success. I have checked engine bay fuses one had blown, still not getting it into correct operational mode. There is supposed to be a fuse box behind the glove box, I can't see it, (although this description is from 2005 and 2012 models).I all can see are wires. I am desperately hoping it is a fuse somewhere. Edited Sunday at 09:05 AM by Andy L added more content
BigNev Posted Sunday at 10:50 PM Posted Sunday at 10:50 PM So does that mean your battery was flat, then you jump started it? If it started, the immobiliser is not your problem. Some more background details could be useful! It's possible the jump start has spiked some circuit, and we'll assume it was connected correctly so there wasn't a 24 volt supply created - or there could be a few components that will not have liked that. I'm fairly sure there is a fuse box behind there, but you may need to remove the box to get at it, I think you squeeze in the 2 lugs, and unlatch the little damper on the outside left. Good luck! Cheers, Nev
Gamith Posted Monday at 06:31 AM Posted Monday at 06:31 AM Do you have a JOBD compatible code reader? if not one is a wise investment. Clear any existing codes and then start the car up to see what appears after another scan. There are two fuse boxes in the engine compartment and two in the cabin (at least on my 2005) - one is indeed behind the glove box on the passenger side and the other is on the drivers side. I have attached a LibreOffice sheet with info on fuses. Alphard Fuses - with fuse type.ods Check the battery terminals are securely connected. alternator and earth connections also. With an electrical tester check that the fuses are still working, especially 21 and 22 on the passengers side and 2 on the drivers - they are marked as 'Engine Computer'. A picture of the dashboard when trying to start the engine to show which lights are lit may possibly help. Finally get a mobile auto-electrical engineer out to take a look. By the sounds of it the ignition system, fuel pump and starter motor are working at least.
Rojie Posted Monday at 09:02 AM Posted Monday at 09:02 AM I have an earlier model. There is a fuse box behind the glove box (which is not difficult to remove) but it is extremely difficult to get at. You may need to be on your back, with a torch and a mirror too.
