Hi folks, I’ve had this Alphard a while now, 2006 3ltr import, but just noticed this button on the dash, any ideas anyone? I don’t have a clue, thanks!

Hello Michael,

Welcome to the Forum.

No, could be anything.

Many Japanese owners add all sorts of gizmos (which are normally removed before export).

Do you have driving lights fitted at the front ?

I hope it isn't your rear fog light warning switch, as I doubt it complies with the MOT requirements.

Does the word on the button ('Blatz'?) return anything on an internet search?

I thought I would take a look - this might be helpful it's from a company called Blitz.

Quote from That's the control button for a Blitz throttle controller. It basically works like the eco/pwr buttons in a gen 3. If it is hooked up and working, you can probably press it a few times to cycle through the behaviors of the throttle pedal. https://www.reddit.com/r/prius/comments/dmana8/what_is_this_bl_tz_button_on_the_left_side_of_the/ (https://www.blitz.co.jp/products/throcon/smathro.html) and looks to be a throttle controller.

Looks like you need to be driving for you to see what it does (if anything - the rest may have been removed on export / import) but I would guess it swaps between Sports / Eco / Normal throttle response curves.
