Hi all. My front fog lights arnt working. I’ve

located the fuse box which from what I’ve read on here is located passenger glovebox area. However I’m abit confused as to what’s going on with my fuse box. From the image could you confirm I’m correct in thinking it’s the 15 blu with the wire coming from it. However. I’m not sure what the wire is connected too.

Any help would be appreciated. 3.5 vellfire g 2010 is the car btw.

That looks like someone has tapped into those circuits by trimming the edge off the fuse and soldering the wires on. Slightly dodgy and if the fuse blows it isn't a straight swap. Can't help you with what circuit is what unfortunately.

I can't help with the Vellfire wide of things, and the fuseboard is a different layout to mine. However my front fogs are a 15A feed, so I would assume it's that one which isn't working.

But that's not a factory-fitted addition :-)

It is also a non-standard way of adding feeds.

It looks like one side of the fuse has been cut away and a cable soldered to the end.

I would like to think that both soldered ends are on the fuse-protected side (i.e. that should the fuse blow the original and the extra feed will stop) but I would have thought they would be on the same physical side for that to be the case.

It will definitely be worthwhile finding out where they go, I would hope they are power feeds for two different bits of kit, at least the blue for 15A and red for 10A makes sense.

Good luck.

Oh and for (possibly useless) info my 15A feeds (2005 Alphard) in the passenger side fuseboard are:

Front Fog Lights

Eng Computer

Cig Lighter

Acc Socket

and the 10A feeds are:

Rear Fog Lights

Rear Tail Lights

Switch, Aircon illum

ABS, Powerslide Door, Cruise

Rear Wiper

Aircon, Audio

Seat Heater

Eng Computer, SRS Airbag

Shift lock, Door Mirror, Audio

So according to the paperwork I’ve got with the car I’ve got what appears to be some sort of footwell lights that are white when parked up and then turn blue when driving. Also the same for door cubbies and when I open the door. Almost like puddle lights . I think I’ll just contact the company that sold it to me. And ask them to sort it out. Annoying as I thought it was going to be a quick fix for me to do.

Thanks for you input mate.

Was there a lid for the fuse box, as normal practice is the circuits are identified on that.

No lid at all. I mentioned in a previous reply that it’s got some kind of footwell lights/. Lights in the door cubbies and puddle lights fitted too. I’ve found a manual to it. Can post if that’s of any use? Thanks

Yes ours has the footwell lights, but just one colour, kind of amber, and the door mounted puddle lights. But not the door cubby ones!

As you say, get the company who you bought it from to sort those fog lights!
