Cabin filter and button ??

Featured Replies

Hi, I have an 09 reg Toyota Vellfire 2.4

We’ve been having some bad smells from the blowers/aircon, managed to find the cabin filter and it looks like it’s never been changed 🤦🏻😬. I have been looking all evening trying to find the correct one and I have also seen there is some that have activated carbon in them which helps with smells etc, I would love to find the correct one for my car. I have attached a photo of it, also I have this button (in the photo) what does this do and is there any other filters in the cabin area I need to look for ? Massive thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Thankyou

Hi there!

When I changed our cabin filter, the one I got was a Blueprint ADT32522, I've just looked and they are listed as "activated carbon" type.

The button is for the Pollen Filter function. The description from the JPNZ manual - which I would highly recommend for you, reads -

"Airflow mode will change to internal circulation directed at upper body and filter pollen from the air. After approximately 3 minutes the filtration will be complete and the system will return to the setting before the button was pressed. To stop the function earlier press again."

There is a manual on ebay this afternoon when I checked.

Cheers, Nev

There was a post a little while ago about cleaning those air quality monitors - there is one in the back as well. The little grill on that switch hides a suction system that passes cabin air over a sensor. As you can imagine this builds up a collection of dust etc. over time and then the sensor is unable to work.

Mine looked like:

So definitely worth taking a look when you get a chance. A toothbrush or vacuum cleaner should be able to clean it up, just don't push more crud into the unit. :-)

I hope this helps.
