I believe the standard headunit in the facelift 20 series models can change language, which is 2012 onwards. Otherwise I have seen people fit a module behind the standard headunit which enables android auto/car play. This is the route I would choose over buying an aftermarket headunit which would probably require a new camera and drop screen. check out the alphard groups on the socials for this, ben hau is the man that does the modules. iv used google translate to work out the few menus/ buttons I regularly use.

Anhelo Corazon: 20" 5x114.3 with nearly new tyres. located in Bangor N.I. 20mins from Belfast. 9.5" et 38. 275/35 20 8.5" et 43. 245/40 20 Fairly good condition, VIP deep dish diamond cut and gloss black wheels. These rims are all straight, no buckles or nasty kerbing, no repairs etc. Just some slight worming on the faces. ride quality is fairly decent with the tyre size spec'd and standard suspension. Great fitment for a Vellfire or Alphard. Price: £675 ono.

This is what I found when I picked mine up too. It may require a new column. If you want to check it, you could remove the damper bush and wiggle the spider that holds it in place on the column. If there is play or a knocking then unfortunately its a 2nd hand or new column needed i believe. The backlash is in the worm gear within the lower part of the column. Its very slight but whem driving over rough surface at slow speed cam be very loud in the cabin. I stripped mine and packed with grease but this only dampened the rattle for a week or so. Then had to replace the column with one from amayama. Hope you get it sorted.

Alphard Actuator
Quimbasher replied to pjpern's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Iv had this before on a previous car, it turned out to be a sticky thermostat. Does it take some time for the engine temp to come up from a cold start? -
2010 GGH20 3.5V6 With the oem 18s and a fresh service iv had 13.2km/L on a long run at around 60mph. Usually would be 12.5km/l close to 35mpg. But iv moved to 20" wheels and cant get much better than 11km/l so 32mpg. Really noticeable drop so may look at selling them and searching for light weight alloys instead.

to remove CDs its far right button on bottom row, then touch screen the eject buttom for cd. then button to close the screen up again. to flip down rear monitor, press 2nd button from right on bottom row. then on that screen, press the top middle icon to open an close it. google translate on camera mode is helpful to guide through the menus etc. -
It wasn't a difficult job, just awkward. I know Ben Hau can replace the unit as a service, hes on the facebook pages. end of the day its just nuts and bolts, its not cheap even doing it yourself. IIRC the column was £560 delivered. on some videos showing the bush change they remove steering wheel but that not necessary, just drop the column down and unbolt the power steering motor. i believe if its driven with a failed steering motor bush for too long the vibrations go into the column and cause the wear. so if you hear the steering rattle get the bush checked asap, its only an £8 part.

Lexus is same oil but cheaper btw! -
4520A-58010 steering column. i got mine from amayama. there are few youtube videos on similar toyotas/ lexus with the same rattle from steering coloumn. if you replace the entire column i think it needs programed on techstream. so i removed and replaced the lower section that has the wear. I am now rattle free!

yes your on the right lines. you need hub centric spacers so there is a lip for the wheel to centre on. for the oem 18" wheels on the 20 series i have went for 20mm rear and 15mm front. could possibly go wider but at this width there wont be many stone chips up the side of the wagon. those bonos spacers are filmsy looking and not sure if they have passed any safety tests. I would go for H&R or Eibach, you get what you pay for...

Quimbasher replied to kristoff's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Does it judder when you open the bootlid manually? if so then it may be the struts or hinges, would try lubing them and go from there. -
Deleting albums from HDD
Quimbasher replied to Oddcouple's topic in Toyota Alphard & Vellfire Club Forum (2008 - 2015)
Try putting in a CD and record on to the HDD, you may find it then shows. mine was the same, shows 70% but I couldn't find any music on it. -
I have been chasing a steering rattle since I bought it months ago (GGH20). first port of call to replace the steering motor damper, but when I removed the power steering motor it had already been replaced, possibly by import dealer. next I checked the steering column and felt movement possibly from the U joints. Bought a new but cheaper than OEM intermediate shaft off the bay and it helped a little but still a bad rattle over rough road surface at lower speeds. So after researching its been noted that the large gear that mechs with the worm gear from power steering can wear. so I stripped it down and greased the two gears. This quietened it down massively, but only lasted a week or 2. As a result I now know its the steering column at fault, so have ordered hopefully a genuine new column minus the motor, from Japan. From what I have read this is common enough, though the previous owner of mine lived along a Stoney lane so this may have been a contributing factor
