Thermostat replacement, GGH20
I haven't had to change the thermostat on my Alphard yet but in the past, when bleeding is difficult I used a funnel sealed on to the top of the rad to bring the coolant level up, well above the head. then it allows plenty of expansion when revving the water pump. Could there be a bleed port anywhere on the system? as it stretches quite far down to the rear wheel well if i remember correctly.

Power socket not working
thanks for the tip chris, the only thing i can find is the button to override the parking brake switch for the dvd / satnav system which im thinking may take power from the cig 12v circuit. it still has power.

AH20 Head Unit
I believe the standard headunit in the facelift 20 series models can change language, which is 2012 onwards. Otherwise I have seen people fit a module behind the standard headunit which enables android auto/car play. This is the route I would choose over buying an aftermarket headunit which would probably require a new camera and drop screen. check out the alphard groups on the socials for this, ben hau is the man that does the modules. iv used google translate to work out the few menus/ buttons I regularly use.

Electric Steering Damper Replacement
This is what I found when I picked mine up too. It may require a new column. If you want to check it, you could remove the damper bush and wiggle the spider that holds it in place on the column. If there is play or a knocking then unfortunately its a 2nd hand or new column needed i believe. The backlash is in the worm gear within the lower part of the column. Its very slight but whem driving over rough surface at slow speed cam be very loud in the cabin. I stripped mine and packed with grease but this only dampened the rattle for a week or so. Then had to replace the column with one from amayama. Hope you get it sorted.

Alphard Actuator
Iv had this before on a previous car, it turned out to be a sticky thermostat. Does it take some time for the engine temp to come up from a cold start?

Mega thread Alphard MPG!
2010 GGH20 3.5V6 With the oem 18s and a fresh service iv had 13.2km/L on a long run at around 60mph. Usually would be 12.5km/l close to 35mpg. But iv moved to 20" wheels and cant get much better than 11km/l so 32mpg. Really noticeable drop so may look at selling them and searching for light weight alloys instead.

Sticky dash fix
Iv read the Australians use baby oil wiped over the dash. May be Worth a bit of research perhaps

Rear Diff coupler bearing disintegrating. ADVICE APPRECIATED
If it was mine, it would depend on how big the metal fragments were that came out. If you think the internals are still in good shape id go down the route of a flush and new bearing. Are there any indications as to why it failed? Is is a common problem on the 4wd models?

Vellfire misty lights
