  1. You could also try it along the roof under the rubber roof strips. Also check the door rubber seals are not damaged especially at the top. If they are repair or replace them
  2. Hi Along with cleaning roof drains I ran some Captain Tolley’s creaking crack cure around the windscreen edges a couple of times. That seemed to sort it. Good luck
  3. Hello Please can anyone suggest where I might get my gear box replaced? It’s a 2.4 2AZ-FE FWD petrol with a K112-02A CVT unit? I am in Colchester Thanks
  4. Have you checked that you haven’t accidentally hit the moon roof lock button
  5. Can you recommend where to buy Toyota CVT fluid TC please? I am having difficulty finding a uk source for 4L or less
  6. Is that something I could see from underneath the car?
  7. I have just crawled under the car and see that there is oil o fluid on underneath of cvt area. I have tried to photograph it and will attach. I cannot see where it has come from. Do these units leak from and specific areas? Is it likely to still need replacing? Videos is not great as hard to get light and camera focus at same spotIMG_4525.mov IMG_4525.mov IMG_4525.mov
  8. It all looked dry underneath. Thanks for responding
  9. Hi My 2015 2.4 petrol vellfire died on me yesterday! Engine runs but no drive so I suspect the gear box has gone. Had been running very smoothly but then noticed a slight roughness at slower speed going up slight incline a mile or so before it completely lost power. Does anyone know of a garage near Colchester Essex who might be able to do a proper diagnostic check and repair or replacement. From the chassis number and vin plate I think it is a K112-02A trans axle CVT Any idea if ball park cost? Thanks for any advice suggestions.
  10. Hi If it once had a sun roof and water can get to that area I would check the roof drains. Not too difficult to check from inside by moving down the roof lining above front doors. I would also check carefully for tears and splits in the rubber seals around the doors
  11. That would be very useful. Did some come from the factory with a pre fitted leisure battery? I guess the loom wires would be pretty hefty and so hopefully easy to identify if they exist already? Thanks for your help. I will see if I can find some pictures or more information.
  12. Thank you Chris, I will see if I can track one down
  13. Hi I have recently acquired a 20 series 2015 vellfire 2.4. It is a 7 seat layout. I would like to keep the 7 seats but use it as a weekend van so am looking to fit a lithium leisure battery to run a fridge. Has anyone any tips? Where is best to locate it? I wondered about having a DC DC or MPPT unit ?50A in the car with an Anderson connection so I can have a power unit ?100 - 200Ah that I can move in and out of the car as required?? Are there holders one could use in the engine compartment to save space in the vehicle?? Also any tips on bed layout eg front and middle or middle and rear?? Do you use loungers on the seats to even them out or mattresses or any bespoke solutions you can share?? Thanks for any thoughts and advice
  14. I would get a cleaning rod for the moon roof and sun roof front and back drains. They are about £2 in temu and clean them out first. If they block he water overflows the pans the roofs sit in an can track anywhere
  15. Thanks. I have had some diagnostics by a very helpful RAC patrolman. In case anyone is interested I will post them below. AI tells me it’s likely to be HV ecu!
  16. I have just got a fault scan an no fault codes stored! It is starting again but not knowing why it failed I do not know whether to try driving it again!
  17. Hi everyone Having had my Toyota alphard 2.4 hybrid 2004 running well having cured the water leak that was causing it to fail I was delighted until this morning when the car suddenly failed. It restarted after 10 minutes but then failed after a minute or so. It has done this 3 times. The dash display is shown below. I don’t currently have a code reader to hand. Any thoughts and suggestions please?
  18. Looks great! Any more pictures of your conversion you can share?? Enjoy
  19. Thanks for your reply. Tried another ECU unit. No different. Amazingly the car started and the shut down several times before finally running for over an hour on the drive , starting and stopping the engine as the battery levels filled and dropped as per hybrid! Next morning would not start or recognise the hybrid battery existed! No new leaks and all dry in footwells unlike previously. I think it is now scrap or spares as I have run out of ideas and budget to chase an uncertain return! Thanks for everyone’s time and help. It has been a great car but it has beaten me!
  20. If anyone is interested, this is the latest! the alphard started, ran for 10 minutes then stopped! Still said ready but would not drive (on driveway). Switched off and it couldn’t see the hybrid battery. after a few minutes it restarts then runs for 5 mins and stops. attached is a picture of the dash lights when it stops!
  21. Thank you, I will do. do I need to power down the high voltage to do the cleaning?
