  1. Great!!!! I am glad you got sorted, I changed my head unit to a Android one and its Fantastic also
  2. I am not familiar with that product so I cant really give any opinions on it, be interesting to know if it works so please let me know how you get on.
  3. Hi Mark: from my experience there are several head units across the range of these vehicles and there are differences in wiring too, Mine is also a 2005 hybrid with full theatre system. although the majority of the head unit connectors are common with other head units some are totally different. I would suggest checking what connectors are on the back of yours before purchasing an head unit that may or may not plug seamlessly into your vehicle. This is only a suggestion and not gospel
  4. That Adapter is for the AH20, Mine is AH10 and hybrid. and has different connectors than those will fit
  5. Hi All; I took my sliding door panel off (passenger right hand) because it wont open with dash button or fob. It closes fine. I noticed that the cable from the door handle to the latch at the back of the door is not working properly. If I pushed the lever near to the handle and then pressed the fob it worked perfectly. I also noticed that the cable had come separated from the crimped end at the rear latch operator. Any Idea of part number or where I can get a new one from. Alphard Hybrid 2.4 2005. Thanks in advance 😁 forgot to add it opens perfectly from the outside using the handle
  6. Sorry to assume Rojie I just thought with you being MOD you would know who's who better than me.
  7. Hi Andy Welcome, It does look daunting and with so many videos it can become over bearing. There are a few guys on here that fit them and they do a brilliant job. Ben is one and I am sure Rojie could mention others. I try to help where I can but I am no expert I usually go off my own experience as I am a techy. I like to try to do things myself and so far all as worked out fine for me. However I would first suggest asking the guys who fit them if they are near enough to you.
  8. turn the ignition off remove the key. You have a shift lock button I presume. press shift lock button and you can move gear stick through gears without any issue of vehicle electrics being on. The climate controls i.e. two figures for front and back may show, but removing the connecting plugs wont cause any issues. you may get engine management light coming on when you first reconnect everything, but this will go once you have driven car a couple of times. On mine best position was "N" made it easier when replacing facia when completed job
  9. sorry I meant to say you separate the climate control unit later on from the original facia panel you have removed, once all connectors are unplugged the climate control and original head unit should all lift away together. on mine there was also cig lighter, passenger seatbelt and hazard warning lights sockets that had to be disconnected too, before I could lift the whole facia panel with original head unit away.
  10. You unplug all the connectors, the climate control on mine has 3 connectors. Dont worry about mixing them up they are all specific plugs for their sockets. climate control should separate later on in the replacement sequence
  11. Yeah there a lot of different entertainment units across the range, mine is totally different to most. The climate control on mine was pretty easy to suss out once I had removed the whole unit together. Bit of advice if you can put gear knob back on loosely to avoid damaging screen if you slip while manoeuvring the head unit about. take a pic of back of climate control and if same as mine I can give a little more help

Give my old girl a clean and polish, she still got style for a 2005, runs like a dream
  13. Just a suggestion check the headlight bulbs haven't blown, this does give a AFS fault
  14. Hope it helped Stuart
  15. drivers side is by drivers footwell, passenger side the horrible one to get to left side passenger footwell close to where cabin filter is behind lower drop down glove box,
  16. https://www.halfords.com/technology/reversing-cameras/echomaster-reversing-camera-with-dynamic-parking-lines-825346.html?recType=OCWOTBRec £45 on offer at moment, I didn't want cheap nasty one
  17. Yeah I agree Pete I ordered 12v camera today,
  18. No they don't have a tool for removing fuses, I use some forceps because the fuses on passenger side are a real pain to get to. The forceps I use are the long stem type. I use for fishing.
  19. This is only a suggestion based on my own experience when I needed to do some rewiring. I moved the seat so that the front of seat was inline with marker on quarter panel usually an arrow in the plastic. Then lay the seat down completely. Removed the seat reclining and moving handles (be careful there are little clips you must lift with a thin bladed screwdriver on the insides of the plastic handles. They are stiff and you could injure your hand. once them are off remove all the plastic shrouding at the vehicle side of the seat. I bought plastic trim removers so not to damage plastic. there are two bolts that you need to remove under this covering. one is the seat belt holder so slide the unfastened seat belt up out of the way. move the seat up as though you are going to fasten back to side when ready to take seat off makes removal easier. Once seat is removed put the bolts back in position so they are not lost. I MUST POINT OUT THIS WAS DONE ON MY 2005 TOYOTA ALPHARD HYBRID. I dont know if there is any considerable difference between mine and your vehicle. If you pull the seat folded runners down so they rest on the floor it will make doing the rest easier and only do one seat at a time to give you room. Hope this helps
  20. not embarrassing at all I did same thing when I first picked mine up🤣. Just glad you sorted it
  21. Yeah I speak to Chris.ac a lot it was him who found the repair manual cd for me, he didn't have much knowledge of my original head unit sockets as he said "some familiar some alien" to him, The CDROM was costly but its paid for itself already with what I have learnt from it
