This might be a silly question, but looking at your pic I dont see the power socket button like I have near the door buttons. Do you have a AC button somewhere else? if not could it be the AC power on/off button? -

If it only comes on when the headlights are switched on then it must have something to do with the lighting system, that's why I suggested the fog light. so its just going to be either a case of illimitation or ignore. Sorry only thing I could suggest -

Yeah sounds good, I like to see how things work and find it amazing that most vehicles have extras that folkes dont even realise. looks like we both on two subjects this and head unit replacement. Although I have fitted a new unit, I intend to use the cdrom info to help me build patch leads so that I can connect directly to vehicle sockets. -
I decided I wanted a better Camera system due to tow bar for trailer so fitted the above. Trailer attached leaves reversing a little sketchy, with this system all good. So losing the 360 after fitting after market head unit not an issue for me, just wish I had adapter to wire up to amp

I agree Chris these sources are invaluable, and a Cdrom is better than books as they dont rip or get full of oil -

shift lock button
atlanticcobra2023 replied to david's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Yeah if you are using brake pedal to allow you to change from "p" to any other to start with then the shift lock will be on and you release it when first pressing brake after that you can select all gears no issues until you stop and remove key. when you go to start again press brake all good -

atlanticcobra2023 replied to david's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
It does a lock on the gear selector so that you cant move the gear selector. I.E. When first get in and start up with Gear selector in "P" if your shift lock is on then you have to put your foot on brake pedal to allow you to change gear. If its not engaged then you can select gears freely. It does not have electrical connections to the button but the bottom presses on a lever under the bezel skin near the gear selector to put shift lock on or off. Shift Lock = (Gear shift on or off) hope this helps -
ATH10 aux battery replacement
atlanticcobra2023 replied to timmers_uk's topic in Toyota Alphard Servicing
I just thought I would add my two penneth seeing as I have recently replaced mine. Sit in the middle seats and look where the cup holder and sockets are at the back of the centre console, pull the cover out (bottom halve of back of console) to the left at the top there is a white plug disconnect that first by pressing locating clip and pull down. then with a 10 mm spanner undo the nut at the top of bracket rod until you can remove the "U" rod holder. Put the nut back on top of the rod so you dont lose it. Go into centre console and remove the mat at the bottom, there is a large rubber bung in the centre, remove that and the front bracket nut is visible, use a long extension bar and a 10mm socket to loosen that nut if you drop the nut dont panic you can retrieve it when you remove the battery. now slide the battery back a little so that you can get a 10mm socket or spanner on the negative terminal. Undo the negative terminal and slide the battery further out. now you know the rest. (MY VEHICLE IS THE GEN 1 2005 TOYOTA ALPHARD HYBRID BY THE WAY) -

Hi Geralt: I am about to do a trial run, I have connected the new unit and I want to see what happens. The unit has been temporally installed for a couple of days to test any effects on basic electrics (any power drain etc) so far no issues. I can fit a USB OBD to test for any issues later. I will post how I get on. thanks for your input
