Fuse location for audio 2005 hybrid
atlanticcobra2023 replied to gary49's topic in Toyota Alphard Hybrid (2002 - 2008)
Hi all, this is a long shot, but I am trying to find out why there is no power to the gauge fuse on the drivers side. if I hook up a direct wire from the battery to the fuse the vehicle starts. Just out of curiosity I checked the battery and accessory cables to the ignition and there is no power there either even with vehicle running. question is could these issues be related. Thanks in advance for any input 😁 -
sliding door cable replaement

Do you have door buttons on dash to right of steering wheel, and door power button to left of steering wheel. If you have these press the door power button it my be switched off. If you don't have these then may be you don't have power slide doors -
Yeah Gareth: Short journeys do use more fuel. I have Hybrid version, but to be honest the mpg doesn't really bother me. Mine is off the road at the moment, because a previous owner somewhere along the line had spliced an accessory in and fitted in a 250v glass bulb. It blew when I turned the ignition on the other day and caused some major issues. So I am now going through the wiring diagrams and slowly repairing the blown circuits.

Hi Sorry to open this old post, I found that having the green symbol lit up by pressing the small black button beneath it allows the sensors to work. They light up when the corners get close to objects at their individual height. I reversed carefully using the symbol on and got very close to a solid brick wall. (see picture). This was also after fitting a aftermarket head unit. Both bottom sensors light up and sounder bleeps, I am not sure how close I was when this started but was pleasing result as I have tow bar fitted.

Rear Foglights - better integration
atlanticcobra2023 replied to Chris.ac's topic in Toyota Alphard Club Forum (2002 - 2008)
Hi Chris hope your camping has gone great, Yes the relay is there and I intend to tap into it and use an after market switch which I already have. Going further on this, I was looking at the wiring diagrams posted earlier and I would just like to clarify a point. The Diagram is for MZ. the correct plug connector in mine (2005 Hybrid 2.4l) is T20 and has two connections. I can post the diagram if anyone needs -
No Philip I didn't get them, but to be honest its doesn't make any difference to performance of the vehicle. I have diagnostics kit that can give me state of health of Hybrid system and the Hybrid Fault light on the dash will inform me if it goes faulty. Changed head unit got rear camera(added new camera for better video quality) and I can add a front one if I want as the head has the capability for that. Got steering wheel controls too so well happy

Rear Foglights - better integration

Hi all; Sorry to reopen this topic, but in my defence I only got the Alphard recently. After reading through all the comments I am left some what confused. As Chris,ac knows I bought the full repair CDrom and it has been an absolute gold mine of information. I hate the way the dealer fitted the fog light to my Alphard but I have no record of this person as I bought the vehicle from a mate. Having done weeks of research I have found that there is a Rear Fog light relay fitted in the appropriate socket in the passenger footwell, and having seen Chris's pic of rear connector I cannot understand why there is no connection via a stalk. I have replaced the ugly switch with a proper illuminated switch, but now I am looking at trying to make use of the factory fitted wiring. any pointers would be much appreciated. The picture shows butchered plug I found behind dash. Red/white, Black/white and Black wires cut by dealer I pressume -

Yes dreaded VAT is payable from EU goods after Brexit but as I stated the goods I bought from JAPAN incurred no customs fee or EXTRA VAT. price I paid for goods and shipping costs (£125) were all I incurred. I checked UK customs and VAT status before I made purchase and I would advise anyone else thinking of purchasing from outside the UK to do the same to save shock of any extras added. -

There are no UK customs charges on goods under £135, I found this out a couple of months ago when I ordered something worth £125 from Japan 😁 -

Hi Martin if yours is the Hybrid like mine, at the drivers side remove seat cowling at the bottom. take out the two plastic stud fasteners on the side piece of centre console and remove that side piece, all area underneath will be visible get a torch to brighten up area and it will be there, if its the petrol only I am sorry I havent dealt with that model -

No there is no click to speak of, if you lift the right side of the facia slightly and put your right hand in you can feel the button and move it around. it has to be put in with the bottom point resting on the lever under the gear shift shaft -

It could be that the lever the button presses on has locked in position, or the bottom of the button is not touching the lever properly and the last time it did it was switched to switch lock off. With them being plastic it could have also broken at the bottom. -

Hi All: I have both the remotes for the JDM radio with DVD/MD for front and rear roof screen, anyone interested make me a decent offer, I will put pics on if any interest -
In my defence I did state that it is the usual Maintenance manual, If that was misleading I apologise, I did however state it does not go into any in-depth technical information which Bill did reply positively to, giving me reason to believe he understands its not a repair manual. To clarify it is the basic owners manual with normal information normally associated with these Manuals

2004 Alphard cig lighter fuse replacement
atlanticcobra2023 replied to a topic in Toyota Alphard Servicing
Passenger side really hard to see. remove lower glove box, remove trim panel to left of footwell (there is plastic nut holding trim) you will need a torch and long nose pliers. you have to get under the tight space and look up using torch. Fuses on passenger side face downwards towards floor so you wont see them unless you get right under where lower glove box is. The plastic trim you remove has fuse list and position of fuse on a label at the back of the trim, the plastic nut can be removed using just fingers. The thing that puzzles me is why your key fob isnt working, check light comes on on fob when you press it if not change battery.
