  1. Thanks very much for the post. I’ve read that people are exposed to more radiation when flying on a plane, but my missus won’t have it unfortunately. I’d still love an Alphard, but unless I can get one tested over here, I can’t see it happening.
  2. Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. I have a question which may well be unanswerable, but I’ll give it a go anyway. After months of looking for an Alphard, I found one which looked really good, only for my missus to baulk and pull out because of possible radiation. I got a VX check carried out, but it said very little about where the van was from or what the radiation reading was before it was shipped- it simply got a ‘pass”. Is there a testing facility in the UK where I could arrange to have reading please? If not, I’ll have to look at similar sized non-export vans and I really don’t like them as much.

  4. If I’ve understood correctly, it would still be the Tein suspension, but it would be readjusted to the vehicle’s original suspension level before I buy it. Does that sound correct?

  6. Thanks Kendo. Ive contacted the dealer and he’s said that the suspension can be put back to its original level. Would I still need to declare it to the insurance if I had the original suspension reinstated?

  8. Thanks very much for the replies everyone. Whilst I’m here, I’ve seen a van for sale in another part of the country and the dealer offers delivery. I can’t decide whether taking such an option would be ok, or is buying a car without seeing or test driving it just crazy even during a pandemic?
  9. Hello everyone. I’ve been looking at base vehicles to eventually have converted into a camper. I’ve seen a really nice one, but it has ‘Tein’ aftermarket suspension which means it’s been lowered. Would a lowered vehicle be unsuitable to convert? I’m thinking of speed bumps, hills etc

  16. Hello, I’m looking to buy a rear conversion, possibly with pop top, but definitely with isofix for around £10,000. Apparantly I’d need proof that the conversion had been done professionally for insurance purposes. Am I being unrealistic?
  17. Hello everyone. I’m thinking of buying a campervan, but as I have a toddler, isofix is essential. I’ve looked at other vans and had eBay brackets which slot between the seat and upright part recommended, but they don’t strike me as being safe. Do Alphards have isofix as standard please?
