Relay needs installing in the factory socket,  passenger side footwell. Fuse is usually fitted, drivers side footwell.

You can use the existing socket located on the sonar sensor loom on the driver's side ( photos of all this is available on previous posts)

You can add two pins to the existing socket ( the side that attachs to the fog lamp, both the male and female sides were present on 3 alphards i have done, so just add two pins from summer other cheap connector from eBay)

I agree, the oem rear fog looks naff, but I'm sure it's actually the entire quarter panel that attaches to the rest bumper, so it's cost will be greater than valenti.

Edit. I was wrong about the quarter panel it seems, maybe I'm mixing it up with 10 series winter kit fog

Hey Chris, thanks for the message. This is what puzzles me (and I guess I'll find out when the car arrives) because I am hearing that on 20 series relay is already there (I bought one anyway just in case). Was relay not present on your 20 series? Also, I am installing the stalk and people advise that if you're using the stalk then relay wasn't required whereas if you're adding some button in the blank space then yes, relay may need to be installed.

I am planning to use the existing socket, as seen in your picture on page 4, as it is specifically designed for OEM fog light (left blank on those vehicles that didn't opt to have it installed from factory). Do you know what connector/plug would I need to attach to this. I found the part number being 81215H and so probably this connector is right?

Just a reminder about fitting a flush fitted rear fog[s],some tow bars fit very close behind the rear valance/bumper,leaving little or no  room for the light/s

I think the plug looked a little different on mine, but Toyota nicely left both halves on the connector under the bumper.

My 2009 20 series didn't have the relay fitted, but fuse was.
