Saf Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Vehicle is starting and when I put on D or Reverse it moves on idle speed. When I accelerate their is no rev. I tried changing battery. Still the issue is same
Alphard Club Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hi Saf Do you have an yellow engine light on the dash??
Gamith Posted August 15 Posted August 15 If you have a JODB compatible reader that should, hopefully give some clues. Clear the existing codes and wait for it to happen again then read again. It may be something like an air or fuel filter that needs replacing, but more likely would be a lambda sensor - the code scanner will point you in the right direction - there are lots of post on the forum.
BigNev Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Will it rev with the accelerator pedal, out of gear? If not, suspect the throttle position sensor.

Thank You All for the help. So it should be a (J OBD) or (OBD J) ? OBD 2 will not work? I'm in Canada. Thank You.

Saf Posted Monday at 06:33 AM Author Posted Monday at 06:33 AM Thank you all. Finally with many research, found out the issue was due to a 10amp fuse (ETC). The best thing some mechanics suggest it is a gear box issue and one timing belt. LOL.
BigNev Posted Monday at 06:55 AM Posted Monday at 06:55 AM (edited) Aha!! Excellent! Would that be Electronic Throttle Control? I was on the right path, brownie points to me 😃 I'm constantly amazed how dumb some people are, who are supposed to do "the subject" for a job- how the hell could a gearbox problem stop an engine revving?? If it was in limp mode it would still rev to some extent. It would rev if the gearbox wasn't there!! And timing belt - your 3.5 doesn't have one!! But regardless, if it did, and slipped, if it ran it would rev. Edited Monday at 07:14 AM by BigNev Corrected the engine size 😃
