  1. Yes, Advance Insurance - they know about Alphards. I found them much nicer to deal with than Adrian Flux, no pushy selling.
  2. This gen Alphard is now showing on the Compare the Market website. I don't need to renew until December, but the prices were half that through Advance
  3. Please report back whatever happens, I have nothing useful to add other than I'll be purchasing off of what you find
  4. Hello, I can do this. Is L with the two separate middle seats? If so, the width is terrible for child seats. You can get them in but there is no room (even for a child) to do up the buckle.
  5. There is no option for selecting a 3.5 Alphard on the RAC website.
  6. To add to Rojie's comment, Gen 2 manuals are also avaliable from JPNZ (I got mine via Amazon though). We'll worth it. I've not been able to connect my phone to the on board system though.
  7. I did earlier this year (idler, tensioner, and some bits and bobs). The person I spoke with was lovely to speak to on the phone: spent a good amount of time making sure I only bought what I needed, popped to the warehouse to check they had the items in stock, and I got the parts the next day 🙂 I was worried about them before I got the parts - there was very little feedback about them on the internet.
  8. Thanks Rojie, I checked the mega thread but it's focused on 10 series Alphards. I couldn't find useful answers for insuring 3.5 litre Alphards more efficiently than contacting the specialist insurers.
  9. Who are you lovely folk using to insure your 3.5 Alphard? The websites (e.g. compare the market) I've tried only have the Vellfire 3.5 in their system, and the recommended alternatives (Adrian Flux, Advantage, ...) are coming up at ~£650 vs. ~£350 for the equivalent Vellfire model on the online sites 😞
  10. Don't worry about the lack of replies. This is a small forum (at the moment) and I for one only check in every couple of weeks. I hope this will change as the community grows. Welcome to the forum!
  11. The dynamic load rating is ... only 45Kg. I got this from the Thule instruction manual for their fitting kit (linked here). It'd be lovely if anyone has documentation that says the load rating is higher though!
  12. Hello BGC. Unfortunately, I bought the last Thule foot kit in the UK in May :-( I'm afraid your options are to look for second hand or I think you can get them imported from Australia.
  13. Hello, I'm finding I add 50 litres to the tank when filling a couple of miles from when the fuel warning light comes on. That seems low for a 65 litre tank, especially as the 'range left' reading seems to indicate there are 4-5 litres available. What is your experience?
  14. I'd plan once you get the car. I have the same engine and model as you are getting. It needs an alternator pulley very soon and tailgate struts soon.
