  1. Thanks for the reference, if this was in south east, I'd love to visit them
  2. Exactly. I was shocked too These things should be in a pinned up In joiners, buyers guide, faq etc. So much can be done to organise this information and people don't need to reinvent the wheel. By the way 2gr-fe v6 3.5l before 2010 also had some minor issues that are fixed by recalls Gearbox 6 speed U660E also had a weak spot that was fixed in later years but I hope that is nothing serious 2.4L is big no
  3. Transparent ceramic are good in that sense. 100 vlt (visible light transmission) if front 75 % is legal anyways install is easy once you get an idea - loads of YouTube videos
  4. Suggested Item - if some vendor can supply pre-cut tints of various shades and types for our Alphards and Vellfires (probably only front window and windshield as rear ones come tinted?) that will be a niche and worth repeat business.
  5. MEGATHREAD on service part is good place to start pinning what parts, what part number, where to buy, what are the alternates, breakers, Japanese parts suppliers etc. @admins and @mods can we please help with streamlining of this matter? It affects all and I see sporadic posts on this subject. We can do better. Is there option to pin the megathreads or some running posts like that on regular sensible subjects? Doesn't need to be my thread, happy for admins to start something in structure they like.
  6. Very useful, section with gen and trim levels can be added as it can be very confusing when you start looking first time ..350g x l package 2.4l etc..
  7. Your request for leaving is denied 🧐☺️
  8. It can be win win win on all corners!
  9. You are right, Ceramic Tint cutout heat so dramatically that aircon will reduce its working by may be 70%(that is my guesstimate from all I've read so far). It's fascinating that such technology exists but is not widely available / advertised. My only concern is if front windscreen application can distort glare or anything.
  10. By the way I started a dedicated thread on ceramic Tint but it might need being pinned to get peoples attention. Else good ideas get buried alive!
  11. There are many elements to this discussion 1. Films these days have many different materials with usp and negative example metal blocks mobile signal, colour changing, chameleon, heat blocking, fading many more.. Llumar 3M do terrific job but there are probably 10 times more options 2. Light uv and IR components are differently handled by specific applications, trick is knowing what is needed and right value for money 3. Ceramic Tint can even be transparent and still block the heat massively! 4. 75% VLT is road legal in UK on front windscreen but personally I'll go for only clear ceramic in front and 80% front windows More than uv it is the IR that is killer in hot sunny days I feel to save fuel and go green, ceramic Tint should be given subsidies by gov. It is no brainer if 25 quid can save hundreds in fuel over its lifetime
  12. Just a thought..Perhaps we could use collective bargaining power to get discounts code for Alphards Club members? Examples could be tyres, battery, service, ceramic window tint, head unit etc. I'll keep my eyes peeled if I come across something.
  13. Lpg kit users that get rid of spare tyre might think about having one? Anyone??
  14. MPG stats of 2.4 and 3.5 differ by about 10 percent?..it's not worth the saving. Also lookup 2.4l engine review, it is one of the bad apple and 3.5l are among the best. (Bad in relative in Toyota terms).
  15. I’d heard that shell discontinued lpg after some disagreement with suppliers? Only lpg station near my place is shell, so that is making me nervous about going ahead
  16. 👍We don't need to do this is one go but good to have a landing page that can be updated as we go along
  17. Llumar can be blocking sun without the tint. Perfect for front windscreen and windows
  18. Look into llumar 3M solar films too / ceramic Tint. Makes huge difference and can be professionally applied to front windscreen too
  19. Anyone using a tyre pressure monitoring system on their vans that they can recommend? Any pointers what to watchout for? Thanks
  20. Might be worth post a picture, can help people make up their mind
  21. Anyone knows common part numbers, suppliers, importers etc, please keep posting in spirit of pay it forward
  22. YouTube algorithm is clever in what I've just looked up and suggested this short vid. Some importer guy says he has started importing Alphard parts. Might help someone. This one is 40 quid including post. I'll not write any seller name as it might trip no promotion policy. If interested look it up. Quite a mouthful part name. Rear axle trailing cross member subframe bushing. I believe this is for Gen 2 PS: I'm trying to carve out megathreads for what I think is important info. Feel response could be better, but I'll keep trying..
  23. Thankyou I'm tempted to stick to Waze only as it gets regular updates and does all..speed satnav and camera
  24. Is that your car @Ldrego
  25. So this is LPG / Petrol indicator.
