  1. I installed an Eonon Android head unit in my 2004 3.0 and used that exact dynamic sounds adaptor and it worked out the box. It comes with a 'universal patch lead' which has dipswitches for compatibility with different manufacturers and wiring variances, by default it worked with mine so I didn't need to change anything. It claims compatibility with pioneer head units without needing to change anything also, so should be literally plug and play. If in doubt, get in touch with dynamic sounds and buy direct from their website, it'll cost a few quid extras but I'd be confident they'd take a return if it didn't work. I'm sure they would on eBay as well, but going directly though them without the middleman might be worth it for the peace of mind.
  2. You're in the same position as me, I couldn't get mine to do anything either, cable (I'm using a wired connection) shows up, drivers load, it can 'see' everything but you can't edit anything. Someone on another forum said to try other versions of techstream, an older version worked for them, but I've tried 10,11,12,16 and 17 (from memory, often multiple releases within each) and using virtual machine or native in Windows 10 and all to no avail. I could buy a different cable but don't want to drop £60 on a 'claimed good' version in case it's something on my vehicle that's preventing it so I'll wait and when I get a service done at a specialist I'll ask them to take a stab at it.
  3. I've edited my profile, only got a 2004, not sure why I put a 2007 down. So far I've tried techstream 10,12,16 and 17 using virtual machines with xp and I did the method for loading drivers into win10 so you can use it with a 64 bit machine directly, it's the same with all of them so I'm thinking it's the cable or the vehicle. I'm loathe to spend ~£60 on the 'guaranteed' cable when it might be a vehicle issue. Guess I'll live with the beeps for now, I was planning on taking it to an Alphard specialist for a full going over at some point so when I do I'll ask them to take a stab at it.
  4. £325 now. I taxed my '04 3l just a few weeks ago.
  5. How did you get on? I'm having similar issues with my 2004 Alphard, I've got techstream working, the cable is functioning, drivers loaded and the vehicle is recognised, but I can't connect to most ECUs, getting the ECU not recognised message and can't make and changes. I only bought it to turn off the reverse beeps so it's not life or death but I've tried techstream 10 and 12 and they're both the same so I'm wondering if it's the cable or the software that's causing my issue
  6. I have a 2004 with power doors both sides and my keys look like this.
  7. Just insured my 2004 3.0 with Aviva zero. Quoted £253 fully comp with £250 voluntary excess which I thought was very reasonable, but I knocked the excess down to zero and added on legal cover, protected no claims and a hire car, came out at £330 which still isn't too bad. £30 Amazon voucher from Groupon and £20 Halfords voucher from confused.com into the process. Admiral were about the same but they wanted me to tie it into my home insurance and have the same renewal date, no thanks. Swinton wanted £851!!
