  1. Hi there - I saw this and wondered what it could be. Can anyone enlighten me please? And I know people will ask about the cable - it's had a crude camper conversion and this is the feed from the engine bay to the leisure battery. Yes the ends have been separately taped (in black and red) and isolated from each other. I have spent the afternoon removing the conversion so I can see what options might work. Thank you in anticipation. Paul
  2. Is this of any use from autodoc.co.uk? https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/heat-shield-10814/toyota/alphard/alphard-ath1-mnh1-anh1/25589-2-4-anh10w there seem to be a few options so you could do with the part number to narrow it down a bit.
  3. Actually there is an item that mine is missing - a small trim panel near where the the front passengers left foot would be - I _think_ it's where a road flare (of all things!) would be housed. I could take a pic of the lack of something if it would help? πŸ™‚
  4. Well it's possible that, over time, I might need every part number for my 2005 Alphard V 2.4l. But starting with that one is enough I think. πŸ™‚
  5. I have just bought one from https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/8191128010 for 10.85 pounds including shipping to the UK. It will take a while to get here, but I guess that's the way it goes. Oh and thanks goes to Picasso for the part number - made things a lot easier πŸ™‚
  6. Not so far - I can't find a spare media card to try. I have some USB drives on order which I can plug into a cable I found hiding in the lowest pull-out draw in the central console. I think I will have to order an SD card to experiment with. the last time I went down this rabbit hole with my Peugeot it turned out that the best thing was to create a bunch of folders and have a max of, if I recall, 255 MP3 files in each folder. It took some trial and error to find out what worked.
  7. Out of curiosity there seems to be a device in the last picture at around 7 on the steering wheel - what is it? I have 2004 so maybe it's standard on later models πŸ™‚
  8. I thought I would add a pic of part numbers that the seller gave me - the crossed out ones are for non-2004 2.4 Alphards. It might be of use to someone.
  9. And a third question - how do I format an SD / MMC card so music is recognised? is there a max card capacity, number of folders, minimum speed etc?
  10. Just to add to what smurf says my 19 year old 2.4l has: a near side door that can open and close automatically - there is a button on the dash and on the key fob. It can also be opened manually but the motor takes over πŸ™‚ a drivers side door that is opened and closed manually but when closing it a motor pulls it in to the body for the last centimeter or so of travel. I would say my engine bay is similar to yours - there are loads of leaf remains on the gearbox and a slight oil trace on the nearside at the top of the engine. Quite a few minor scrapes and scratches but it all looks to have been treated with a rust stopper - looks a bit untidy but it's been handled at least. I bought mine from a camping business that was closing down.
  11. I'm new here so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have just bought my 2004 2.4l with camper kit and I have been looking at the entertainment system which, according to the small media cards contents, is running iGO8 (igo8-8.3.5.193799-world.EXE) and I assume it's a WinCE version. I have been able to change the time and region, though BST / daylight savings seems to elude the settings. Another of this mornings successes is re-tuning the radio defaults πŸ™‚ My questions are: Are there any (ideally free) map or OS updates available and if so where from please? How can I change the name of the bluetooth connection from 'Car Kit 30' to something a little more useful like 'Toyota' or 'Alphard'?
  12. Hi everyone, I have just picked up a 2004 2.4 Alphard with camper kit installed. My first drive was today from South London, where I picked it up, to Stevenage, where I live. It took me a while to work out that the camper kit had shifted but after a tweak the boards slotted in Ok. I have spent the rest of the day pouring over the various buttons and switches to see what it they all do. I was a little bemused to have the wing mirrors unfold themselves when I started the engine - a feature I wasn't expecting. I looked in the manual and found that the 'fold mirrors' button was too worn to make out the icon πŸ™‚ I wonder how many other features I will find. It's done 167220 Km. the previous owner was a camping hire company and I have MoT and work invoices (mostly services) going back to 2018. There are some cosmetic scrape and scratches which I am not too fussed about - is there anything in particular I should check? Cheers Paul I could post some pics I have taken but I would imagine you know what one looks like :-)
