andyc Posted Wednesday at 06:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:12 PM My 2003 3lt has a judder when travelling up hill 20 to 30 mph .it has brand new tyres and tracking is good. My thoughts are change transmission oil. Or CV driveshaft. Or engine mounts. Anyone else had this problem?
dezufo Posted Friday at 10:14 AM Posted Friday at 10:14 AM If the transmission fluid is brownish in colour and smells burnt, then it needs changing. How steep is the hill? Have you tried changing down to 3 or 2 to raise the revs and see if that stops the judder?
andyc Posted Friday at 10:17 AM Author Posted Friday at 10:17 AM Yes changing down does reduce it. I've booked it in to a Toyota garage next week for a transmission oil change (£300 quote). I'll update you if it cures the judder
MonsterS Posted Friday at 12:31 PM Posted Friday at 12:31 PM sounds like the cv joint. Does it happen at any other speeds?
andyc Posted Friday at 01:06 PM Author Posted Friday at 01:06 PM I thought CV/driveshaft. But wouldn't it judder at all speeds? Transmission change next week. I'll post with result. I've noticed a lot of people with mk 1 Alphards are experiencing this problem
