In and around West Berkshire and South Oxfordshire, I've been unable to find Super Unleaded (E5), 97+ RON petrol anywhere lately, so I've had to start using Normal 95 RON E10 in my 3.0l

Is anyone else seeing a shortage?

How long can I keep running with normal before damaging the engine?

Going to Costco Reading in the hope they have some E5 today.

Hello Steven,

Although this is a slightly controversial topic many of us normally run on E10.

Which fuel to use has been a popular topic previously.

Lots of reading for you to do if in doubt as to which fuel to use.

Search for E5 / E10 or similar.

It won't get damaged, the ecu will alter fuel/air ratio to suit. The premium in Japan is 98-100 RON.  I only use E10 in mine and had it for 5yrs, it will also run on lpg when I can find any at a decent price

Only a few pumps in Costco Liverpool and Tesco Bidston, Birkenhead.

I use E5 now after stripping my injectorsand finding gunk in them. I have a 3L and notice adifference in fuel economy and engine noise on normal unleaded. Plus my daughters Aygo 1L auto has terrible spuring and clunking on normal unleaded but super its fine.  But then thats my opinion.

While talking about fuel I recently drove to Portugal in my 3 litre 2006 alphard and 97 e5 is readily available in France and Spain but in Portugal it seems that only 98 e 10 is available I put this on in case somebody else needs the info.
